That was pretty bad...and too bad as it was a pretty good card. To be fair to Pimlico, while I think it sucks that the Pimlico Special was cancelled, and marquee races are VERY important for maintaining status, they put together two fun cards for the Preakness and as long as it doesn't rain the Friday card offers plenty of action. It was a crowded and fun day last year. I love going to to Baltimore for that weekend every year. Baltimore is great twice a year...Preakness and Opening Day at Camden Yards. |

Totally agree. Preakness Friday and Saturday cards are just as good as any out there. In the last two years, off the top of my head, we saw Artie Shiller (2), Funny Cide (2), Ashado, Better Talk Now (2), Friendly Island, Songster, and many others. That's not even to mention the obvious in the Preakness field.

The CompUSA Dixie is always a great race, and the Emirates race on Preakness day has turned into a good event as well. That's not even to mention the traditional races like the Sir B...er...Barbaro on Preakness day.

Ironic that 2 of Seabiscuit's most historic races: the MassCap and Pimlico Special won't be carded in 2007.
