The bottom of the 8th was baseball not seen since the days of Tris Speaker. I read the yahoo recap on the internets and we had 7 different people associated with the losing team quoted and not even one single lonely quote by the manager of the Indians. I found that odd. The team that broomed the REd Sox was not worth of one single quote in the game recap. I was dying to hear the brilliant Acta explain his brilliance of taking advantage of the complete wildness of Bard to go with a straight steal by Adam Everett on the 3rd pitch of Orlando Cabrera's at bat. That decision and moment of strategery was the one that won the game and we had to read about quotes from 6 or 7 members of the team that got swept. Of course journalism has been dead for 30 or 40 years, but you always hope.

This is fine material.
Obviously the writers are trying bolster Dahla's prediction by making it sound like Boston won the game. Her connections are legend;their number, legion. That was pretty good. |

This series was about the Cleveland Indians. I don't give a rat's ass about the Red Sox. This was about Cleveland being better in every single faze of the game for 3 straight days and the most perfect execution I have seen by a major league baseball team in a long, long time today. The bottom the 8th was the most beautiful baseball witnessed in many years. It needs to be put on clinic tapes. Terry Francona should be put in witness protection after what Manny Acta did to him today. A straight steal by Adam Everett!! Are you kidding me!! I was able to view a live stream of the game. I was a witness to an execution of Terry Francona by Manny Acta.

This is likely the high point of the entire season. I gotta milk this cow completely! When they're 50-77, I can always look back to the glory days of early April!

The depressing thing is you're probably very right.
I only want to see Boston out of the playoffs so I can use Dahla's prediction as a tag line. =:> |

In all seriousness, when they have a good bullpen they contend. This has the makings of a very good bullpen this year. The bullpen was very, very good after the all star break last year when the two lefties got it turned around and C Perez went to closer. he was as good as anyone 2nd half last year. Early returns are the two lefties still have it figured out and if Pastrami can be the right handed set up man...you never know. The rotation is questionable at best, but a lights out bullpen can cover up a lot. Seriously, paul byrd won 15 games in '07 but how good was he really??

You're right on the savers...the starters, still not much is known about Tomlin and Chico.Obviously I forgot his name.I do like the other 3.
On offense---left,2nd,3rd ,dh and first are really not sa hot. But I do think they should wind up at about 80 to 85 wins which would be a big improvement from last year. |

Wedgie has a nice grouping in Seattle. Could perhaps be the worst major league baseball team ever assembled. They all count I guess. Still in first on April 11th!!

Talbots did it all last night. His only job was to give the Holy Trinity pitching law firm of Perez-Sipp-Perez a day of rest. Well done young man.

Good job!
The Indians need a 1st baseman named Cabrera;Cabrera to Cabrera to Cabrera. Exhausto going tonight. I say 100 pitches by the 6th inning. |

Exhausto is doing very well....unfortunately the other guy is doing a little better.
Down 1-0 at the 5 2/3 mark. Let's keep watching. Should be fun. |

Exhausto looking really good last two starts. Actually 9 straight really good starts for what was the big question mark. 8-3 with chew-chew and santana not hitting worth crap. I think that may bode well. I hope. You would think at some point they'll both start hitting at the same time.
I think the difference between .500 ball and the surprise of the world will be Grady. He needs to come back somewhat close to what he was. Their current left fielders are just bad.

Bad?
Bad? The Red Sox are bad.The Indians left fielders are write in's...that's it.Available names to pencil into the line up. To create more excitement, they should take home games and have a fan drawing. The winner gets to play left field for that game. |
