I really have no strong Derby opinions as of now, but if Prado decides to go with Tale of Ekati over Monba then I am leaning towards ToE.

In retrospect if things were always like this I guess I may have trained a few Derby prospects. The fact that they were turf horses or fillies doesnt seem to matter anymore.

The most talented horse I had was Strength and Honor but he was always compromised by injuries and ailments. Battle Won was probably the most accomplished. Nothing to Lose was the best turf horse I had even though I only had him for his maiden win. He would have been a phony polytrack Derby contender this year for sure.

Seriously man, describing what you are going to wager on a race where nobody even knows for sure who is going to be in the race is just stupid. There really isn't another word for it. You later say that you can't believe the grief you take on here, but if you post more stupid stuff than anyone else....yeah, you have to expect some grief.
If I were you I would wait to see who is in the race, and what post positions they draw before even trying to figure it out. You can't possibly know what the pace scenario is going to look like before that time, so figuring out what wagers to make in a race with an unknown pace scenario is....well....stupid.

It also might be nice to see how the horses work over the CD track (especially those that have no dirt form), or to watch the horses in the Lexington, or to see how the odds end up. You know, all of the things that handicappers do when they handicap ANY race.

While I would usually agree, let's be a realistic -- a lock is a lock is a stone cold lock. So why wait?
