To elucidate many were Merchants, business men, people who had adapted very well to the German culture and economy, at a time when things for ordinary Germans were not so good. There were also very poor Jews who got thrown into this miserable mess. It had very, very little to do with RELIGIOUS beliefs. And this is the opinion of most Jews.

Do you understand how the place of the Jews in this society had much more to do THAN RELIGION (ie beliefs)? It is complex.

But the futility is overwhelming.
