Uh.. Dave Robertson? He saved Girardi's ass after he used up his entire bullpen by the 9th inning and then brought in that abject disaster Marte to face Mauer. If crewcut Joe brings that garbage in to do anything but mop-up duty the rest of the playoffs, he should be fired on the spot.

Hey Marte has a special talent. He gave up three hits to two batters. Not easy to do.

I really do think Joe Nathan was the difference maker in this one. That pitch he gave up the home run on was about as bad as it gets.

Isn't that incredible? How can any Red Sox fan talk about A-Rod and call him a liar and all that yet they supported Ortiz and Ramirez? But then say Yankee fans are hypocrites? Amazing.

I was actually referring more to how so many Yankee fans boo and diss A Rod the last few years and now they instantly love him because he gets a couple of huge hits. Good for you. I dont recall ever seeing our fans do the same to Ortiz and Manny when they didnt deliver. But then again, A Rod isnt a real Yankee, is he? Hes not the kind of guy who will ever embrace one particular team and give up any of his own bravado for the good of the team, a la Jeter, Matsui, O' Neill, Brosious, etc. Hes a selfish solo act, a real phony who just happens to be one of the 3 or 4 best players in the game. You can have him.

I laughed out loud last night at the Tex haters during his on-field postgame interview.

And how is he different from Ramirez? How is he a real Redstocking? He didn't come up through their organization. He quit on his team, didn't play hard when he didn't feel like it, demanded to be traded, used drugs, etc. Ramirez has now played for three teams just like ARod has, only ARod has never demanded to be traded. But you say ARod will never embrace one particular team? Interesting.

How do those other guys give up their "bravado for the good of the team"? Isn't it each guys job to do the best he can? If ARod is selfish is hits homers every at bat, doesn't that help his team? Baseball, unlike any of the other team sports, is built on guys being selfish and trying to do their very best. Should a pitcher not try to strike out 27 guys or should is that being selfish because he's not letting the outfielders have a chance to make out? Should ARod come to bat and not try to get a hit so that the guy after him can drive in the runner on second? They didn't bring him in and pay him $25 million to be a sacrifice bunter or to work counts on pitchers. They brought him in for 40+ hr, 110+ rbi, .300+ average. That's what he's given them.
