How morally bankrupt must an adult human be, to threaten raping an underage daughter of an enemy? And how evil must a country be to publicize said threat?

Got this email from a Texas bud...

Dear John & Grace,
The Bishops of the United States are asking that all Catholics join with Pope Francis in praying for a peaceful resolution to the crisis in Syria on Saturday, September 7. The Pope is holding a Prayer Vigil in St. Peter Square from 7:00 to 11:00pm Saturday night (that’s 12:00 to 4:00pm Dallas time). I would encourage all members of the parish to join as families and/or with friends in observing some form of prayer and fasting tomorrow. While our church is occupied all day tomorrow, the Eucharistic Chapel is certainly available for private/personal prayer should you choose to spend some time before the Blessed Sacrament reserved in the Tabernacle.

More information about the crisis and the position of the U. S. Bishops on the crisis can be found at http://cms.usccb.org/issues-and-acti...yria/index.cfm.

Please pray for peace!

Fr. Bob

Nothing, nothing and yes...always turmoil in the middle east...and we are always trying to keep peace even if we have to start a war to do it.
and keep the oil flowing.....damned if we do or don't

Default A Case for Not Bombing Syria

If I encounter a pair of wild dogs fighting in the street, I don't feel compelled to risk life and limb to break it up. Why in heaven's name does the US have to get involved in this mess?

There are atrocities being committed by both sides, and have been in every war (civil or otherwise) since the beginning of time. Taking action against one side implies aiding the other, a step we should not be willing to take at this time.

I used to like Kerry, but the more forcefully he sounds off, the less believeable he becomes to me.

good one. (and speaking of chemicals in foods:

http://news.msn.com/science-technolo...senic-fda-says )

and mike, good point about the wild dogs.

i get that we aren't supposed to ignore wmd use. but, if the u.n. doesn't care enough to fool with it, i think we should stay out of it. everyone knows what we'd do if they were used against us or an ally.

well, i guess it's progress from back when they'd call crusades. don't kill your fellow christians (less money in the collection plate) but by all means, go kill some infidels.

now kerry (and what's up with his face?!) is making the rounds, discussing video evidence...

why are we pushing this? why aren't we waiting for the un report?

and for anyone who wonders why the rest of the world isn't so keen to hear us...

let's see, the nsa scandal in which our govt. wasn't only spying on us, but also spying on our allies...
russia feels we lied to them back when it was libya that we were going to 'just strike a bit, but we're not interested in regime change'....and then it became regime change.
there's our sending a man with great credibility to the un regarding a certain dictator and all his wmd's....yeah, how'd we look after all that again?

we are untrustworthy right now. obama went to medvedev when it was his turn in the russian merry go round presidency seat, and said 'don't vote no on libya. trust me'. putin is no medvedev, he doesn't like us, he doesn't trust us...why would he? he doesn't believe in regime change, and knows what we did in libya.

Putin has sized up Obama...fall back America. I want no part of any more intervention, especially to help rebels who don't like this country either.

Can't Susan Rice come out again and lie it was all due to a video?

Curious why this President is so dead set on avenging Syrian deaths and so uninterested in those who attacked and murdered AMERICANS in Benghazi?
