we have the most expensive medical care in the world, but rank 37th for delivery of that care. ebola gets headlines, but let's talk about how many thousands of citizens would be saved by having proper medical coverage. fat lot of good top hospitals and doctors do, when people can't be seen to receive care.

That is a fantasy.
Let's see any of those countries with socialized medicine keep it going for 100 years. It's unsustainable. Someone has to pay for it. Period. Europe is in shambles. They can only hide the lie for another decade or so. We will see the fall of western civilization in our lifetime. Both sides of the political aisle is complicit. |

2nd Texas health worker tests positive for Ebola; CDC says she flew home before falling ill - they are now trying to get in touch with everyone that was on the airplane.
http://www.startribune.com/lifestyle...279249822.html Keep dreaming that "They" have a fuc1<ing clue what to do. That "They" know how this is and isn't transmitted. That "They" know how long the incubation period is, and whether or not it can be passed on even though the carrier isn't showing symptoms. That "They" know for a fact that this only survives in bodily fluids and won't live long outside of a host. |

You don't take any chances with something that has a 50-70% kill rate.
That's just insanity. All for a make believe economy that's so fragile it can't withstand a shutdown for the possible sake of HUMANITY. Sick society we've built...on greed. Perpetuated by radical idiots atm. |

i'd suggest everyone read the 'other info' link on all you need to know about ebola, in which it discusses how it's spread.

There are NO absolutes. What they know about this virus changes hourly. >>>Ebola is airborne, according to a new report by the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota. Researchers at the university just advised the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) that “scientific and epidemiologic evidence” now exists that proves Ebola has the potential to be transmitted via exhaled breath and “infectious aerosol particles.”<<< http://www.inquisitr.com/1541821/ebo...ZgTDq73J8dz.99 |

Ebola is not transmitted through the air, which makes it much harder to spread than respiratory diseases like the measles, influenza or SARS, Geisbert explained. Instead, Ebola is spread through body fluids like blood, vomit or saliva. A person has to come into contact with those fluids to risk infection. “Because it’s not airborne, it would take very close contact with someone who is at an advanced stage of illness to become infected,” Geisbert said.

It's not hysteria when they are all backtracking on their initial summations. 3 hours ago CIDRAP confirmed it can be spread through the air, but just not where you are. You're fine. |

compared to malaria in 2012 that killed 600,000. or the typical month in american car crashes that kills that many. and yes, i am fine. i don't work in the health care field with people with ebola, and haven't been to africa-and won't be. the thing that gets me most, are the people saying this is all a conspiracy to kill off a bunch of people-they sure picked the wrong way to do it. other ways are much quicker and take out a lot more people. but let's not let all that get in the way of a conspiracy theory-cause they're really much more fun. 'so far none of the family or friends of Thomas Eric Duncan –- the first patient to die of Ebola in the U.S. –- have become ill. With their 21-day quarantine period almost at an end, it doesn't appear the virus had a chance to spread, he said. "This is a terribly important lesson that virus is not going to run rampant in Dallas or anywhere else in the U.S.," Schaffner said. "Let's not forget that we've done some things right."' oh, how boring....
