I'm not a big Thompson believer. He is a good offensive rebounder but pretty much brings little other than "potential" to the table.

Do you guys see Michael Carter-Williams as one of the top 6-7 point guards in the league 2-3 yrs from now?

Personally, i'm stoked, and am excited about the team's future for the first time in a long time.

I was kind of basing it on potential since I think he still has room to improve...he has played some good all around games, just not consistently night after night. On that team he's the only player I'd take other than the two no-brainers. I wouldn't want anything at all to do with Dion Waiters.

I have to admit, I'm really surprised at how good he's been. I figured he'd be good but not this good this early...I've been impressed. He doesn't have much around him right now as far as other impact players which you can kind of see by the scores of the games he has missed. He's pretty much the reason they've won a surprising 15 games already.

There are some pretty good point guards out there right now, but he's definitely had a really good start to his NBA career and has a chance to move into the conversation of top PG's in the coming years. A lot will come down to how much work he puts in and how well the front office does in putting better players around him. Trading Young and Hawes before the trade deadline and maybe even Turner for some assets...along with Noel coming back and the upcoming draft should be a good starting point in building for the future in Philly.

Yes. He will improve offensively. As they put more talent around him, he will be better. I mean you could argue he is top 10 right now.
Actually I think he's top 6-7 now. He is at 17 7 and 5 now. His shooting % is 40 and he turns the ball over a bit. But those are the two things he can improve if he wants it bad enough.

He hasn't improved much this season which is troubling. He still has no real offensive game to speak of, is always lost on defense (which seems to be a team trait) and seems disinterested sometimes. You watch Cavs games and can go 1/2 the game without him making an impact play.

He has played 1600 minutes this year and has 41 assists, 20 steals and 22 blocked shots. Those are pretty soft raw numbers for a guy who lays 33 minutes a game. He is a really, really good rebounder and if he can develop a little go to move and work harder on the defensive end he can become a pretty good player but that team seems toxic for younger guys.

I'd love to see what a guy like Waiters could do with a team like the Spurs.

This may sound crazy but in 3-4 years Carter Williams might be the top NBA PG in the league. He has physical attributes that few PG's have, is a natural playmaker (as opposed to so many of the other young PG's who are natural scorers), is already a pain in the ass on defense and should be in a good situation in Philly with low expectations to start with so unreasonable pressure wont inhibit his growth.

Of course his weaknesses are pretty glaring right now (shooting and turnovers) but those are both things that can be fixed. His numbers are a little deceiving because Philly plays at a breakneck pace but he is a potential star player. He was a steal at the 11th pick. The only caveat is that he is not that young so his improvement curve might not be as steep as a one and done guy but that is nit picking.

The Spurs...you can probably even put Felton there and he'd prosper.

You know he's going to go off tonight against Portland now...lol. Either that or he'll somehow hit the game winner.

The Thunder were absolutely, 100% certain to take him if he were still around a few picks later.

22 minutes and 14 points tonight. Possibly being showcased for a trade?

The knicks should give up Melo for him.
Then fire Woodson and build around Bennett, Shump and Hardaway. Plus the Cavs would def. throw a pick in.

Sounds like a strategy for about 12 wins a year.
