It was the classic Talbot 2nd off the layoff angle. I think it worked for Carrasco as well when he came of the DL 2nd off.

I have made little attention to the Thistleydowns as of late and even forgot about this thing.
Getting worse every year. But thanks for the reminder as it must be analyzed. Don't forget Ohio State's men's V-Ball team won the Nat. title. Of course now it, too ,is "dirty." |

Can america's team hit curve balls?

Well they certainly are hitting something right now.
Is this guy a curve ball pitcher? |

He has a nasty curve. He is going to be better than his dad. That being said, he got shelled in the first.

Thanks so much...I knew Drabek sounded like a familiar name.
38 pitches and only 12 were strikes...in 2/3 of a inning. That's Exhausto on a bad day. Edit--make that 15 strikes. |

I know that this sounds crazy but check out the staff that the orioles are assembling. Matusz pitched very well today. Britton has been excellent this year. Guthrie has looked really good recently. All of those guys are in their early to mid twenties. |

I'll do that...did know about Guthrie, he's good. One of ''Wedgie's" throw aways. The guy was horrible with young talent. He did love 35 year old minor leaguers, though.

I did look at them on evpn and this is true. They're good.Low walks/hits per inning and era's.
They'll probably kill us next time around. |

HC,they may have won the last two....but AMERICA'S TEAM appears to be showing cracks in that once impenetrable armor.

When you lead 12-0 after 3 it's pretty much throw strikes and see if they hit it. Tomlin always throws strikes anyway, they eventually got to him. The Jays had been playing well, they beat the living crap out of the White Sox the series before and the WHite Sox proceeded to sweep the Red Sox in Fenway. 2 of 3 from the Jays up there is pretty good.

The Perez's have both been pretty shaky lately. Pestano and Sipp have continued to be superb all season long. They have so many good relievers some of them will always be pitching well. They are the biggest reason to maintain hope I think...the pen. Grady did some hitting this series which is nice and I noticed how Manny snuck him into the 6 hole to "regain" his footing!! Good one Manny. He put him there hoping they'd keep winning so he wouldn't have to move Brantley!! Grady's a power hitter now and the 6 hole is where he belongs. Hannahan is a banjo on offense but holy crap he is a vacuum at 3rd. He was a highlight reel this series. They've got lots of nice parts. Cabrera has grown up completely. Santana though struggling mightily is on pace for a gazillion walks. Great approach to hitting even with his struggles is an asset on offense. Choo has yet to get hot this year and they still have the best record in the AL. He's sort of come out of it a little but not really, he will get really hot at some point. They're to the point where they just have to play .500 ball the rest of the way to win 88 games this year. I'm not sure if anyone else in that division will do that.
