Summer Bird to me made a rapid progression(beyer and competition wise) from his Mdn win to ARK derby in a very short time, I thought he had every reason to regress in the Derby. The Derby was a big race for him given he ran well despite not being on the best part of the track. I would expect his next race to be his best given he is still lightly raced, and one angle I love is the the Derby to Belmont angle, skipping the Preak. All in all he is a horse with talent, couple that with his stamina pedigree. He is very interesting, I just hope he doesn't become the buzz horse next week, thus RA's projected entry will most certainly be important to value bettors. |

I can understand why Mine That Bird might not be a solid alternative for some. While he made a ridiculous move in the Derby, he did it on the best part of the track, and while saving ground; and he got the best of it in terms of setup in the Preakness. So I can understand if some still question his ability. But, there's certainly no questioning that he's run better than Summer Bird. I'm not saying that MTB is my choice, as I have to see who ultimately runs. |

![]() I have to say this is a very kind gesture...
http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-raci...ksons-decision “I’m gonna give Calvin (Borel) as much time as possible to ride “Mine” and also to keep him from losing two mounts. It just wouldn’t fair to him if they don’t make a decision until the last minute and decide not to go. He won me the Kentucky Derby and I owe him the opportunity if it’s possible. I don’t want to see him sitting on the sidelines when I get to Belmont.” |

![]() Why do I feel Borel will commit to MINE THAT BIRD only to see RACHEL ALEXANDRA entered at the last moment in order to get ALBARADO on her.

![]() They're not gunna run the filly. They'd be insane to bring her right back ... in a 12f contest, no less.
Pletch cherry-picked the event with Roids to Riches. She was well rested … and probly all hopped up on 'roids, to boot. Granted, RA was superb at Pim, but they were gaining on her at the end. 9.5f is probly her limit against the colts. In fact, 9 panels is likely her best distance ... just like it was for her dad. |

![]() I think Calvin Borel is destined to win the jockey Triple Crown....everything is going right for him.
And MTB to me is the better Birdstone. His regression should be about as good as Summer Bird's best race. |
