You have a good point. If not both parties are willing, then it is also rape. But what prompts the dominant guy to want to do this to another guy when he was straight previously?

I agree with God's point on this. I think sexuality is fluid. I know a girl (previously strictly lesbian as far as I knew) who is now dating a transexual male. Very much in love. She met her boyfriend via an ad and placed the ad in search of a relationship with a male transexual.

What does that make her? She is having heterosexual sex with a transexual male.

Sex is fluid. I am not a lesbian but if you left me alone with Antritrust long enough you never know . I have found women to be attractive...but that doesnt make me a lesbian. And if I did try it once (only with lori!), would that make me a lesbian going forward? Would my 30 some odd years of hetero-life be thrown aside for a single daliance?

I find it odd that society is so intent on throwing out labels. Timmi, Im sure Steve Byk would be flattered if he knew that you found his voice to be cool and that you like the way he wears his hats. And if one night after one too many budweisers (nice manly beer!) and listening to ATR and BEYOND you found yourself "really" admiring Steve, it wouldn't make you "gay".

Thread of the year material.
If your a guy and wanna have relations with another guy, cool.
If your a woman and wanna have relations with another woman, cool, especially if I can chip in
Who am I, in the big picture, to judge?
Who are any of us, in the big picture, to judge?

I used to be biased, I could not stand the idea of same sex relations until I worked with a gay man who became a great friend of mine. He opened my eyes to his life because I was willing. I was willing to listen and learn. At first I did not want to be seen with him, shame on me, but as time grew on I realized he is no threat, he's not some weirdo. Todd is a great friend to this day and I value his friendship greatly.

I believe you are born gay or straight, its in the making.

Why would you choose to be discriminated against for the rest of your life by society? No one chooses a hard life. Being gay means things will be slightly tougher for you than the average, straight person.

For that reason, I believe you are born with it.

And even if that's wrong, even if it was a choice, what people do in the bedroom doesn't really affect anyone else, so I don't see the problem either way.

It all boils down to treating a person with dignity and respect no matter what thier orientation is as long as they also treat you with dignity and respect. I have no problems with a person who is a lesbian or gay. Ive met people like that before. Dont push it on me and we will get along just fine.

That is is a great post..But do you think they should have equal rights and benefits as married couples do?

And the problem is that, and I'm speaking from great experience here, but very general experience, that "don't push it on me," means don't hold hands in public, don't kiss your partner on the cheek, don't give me ANY idea at all that you're gay and we'll be great friends!

That's not exactly a welcome mat for gay folks...though lots of conservative heteros like to think it is, until you really flesh out what "don't push it on me," means to them -- nine times out of ten, it's 'please don't make me feel uncomfortable and even realize you're gay....if i have no clue at any point that you're gay, then I support you...otherwise you're pushing it in my face.'

It's a pretty important point to make.

Ive never seen a trailer park with a rainbow flag at the entrance.

Im sure there are gay guys all over the world that are just lining up to push their "gayness" on you. By the way, Timmi is straight.
