Again you and Phil underestimate offensive lineman. They aren't easy to come by and with a game manager at QB instead of a game maker losing a great offensive lineman makes an absolutely tremendous difference.

You're so quick to throw stats around. Take a look back at the Bama-Tulane game. Smith didn't play.

Now try to weasel your way out of that one and say his presence wouldn't have mattered tonight.
JP Wilson sucked in that game too. Shocker there.

OK, so let me ask you this, because I respect your handicapping opinions.... if you thought it was such a big deal before the game that he wasn't playing,

why the fu.ck did you make your biggest bet of the year on them?????? you're smarter than that.

I'm not arguing that he would have helped, but most of the key sacks came from well timed blitzes that the QB did not see coming rather than someone beating the replacement so I don't see him being the difference.

smith not playing was bigger than you guys are making it out. without smith, the line was shuffled. johnson goes down and it's over. finished the game with 2 OL's in thier regular spots. i said yesterday depth was a problem and it showed. utah played well, i give them credit but to say smith wouldn't made a difference is wrong.

A difference or the difference? I think he helps but I think Utah wins that game even if he plays.

That wasn't my biggest bet of the year.

And quite frankly the only reason why Bama didn't cover is because of the 21 point fluke in the 1st quarter. That was a fluke. It hardly ever happens and I don't want to hear otherwise.

I bet my team. I root for Bama and bleed Crimson. I could give a **** about the money. I'm royally pissed about them losing. I'd be happy as hell if they won by 1.

Yeah Utah won. It will be lame if they are named AP champs because of this game though.

Bama will be back and hopefully better. The offense is a big concern next year but the schedule isn't too bad.

Might be two years away from another BCS bowl.

.
I actually disagree with you here. Bama will be tough again next year, like you said more Saban less Shula.

Side note... Houston Nutt can coach my team any day. Arkansas are fuc.king morons for running him out of town.

Better than being beat by Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, Penn St, or Ohio St. Alabama would have rolled over any of them with or without Smith.

Agree

Cincy/VT was a disgrace. It'd be the equivalent of having 3 legged horses run in the Kentucky Derby.

The same VT that couldn't beat Boston College?

Edit - OK, so they split with them, either way BC lost to Vandy.

They beat them when it really mattered.

JPW's favorite target would be Macho Harris.

you're wrong, 8-4 at best. the offense has to be rebuilt. at least 3 new starters on the OL and 1 MIGHT be a true freshmen. (kid playing tomorrow in the army all-star game, i think.) new qb and maybe thinner at rb. (coffe could leave early, upchurch's career might be over and grant may transfer out) i said they were 2 yrs to early.
