At least you had an excuse...

I'm not much of a capper, but I had a great time with all of you as well. It's awesome meeting people who enjoy horse racing as much as I do.

Oh and lastly thanks to Michael Matz for sending the bomb home on Sat. and grooms who leave a little shampoo on. (you had to be there to understand) LOL
I second that on Steve Byk. I was honored to finally meet him in person and I think I'm still in shock over meeting Nick Zito and Sweetnorthernsaint. Thank you again, Steve for all that you do. I had a wonderful weekend.

No comments on the "shampoo." Let's hope I learned my lesson! LOL

Wow, what a weekend. These were the first DT'ers I've met, and they set the bar pretty high. It was a great weekend of capping, racing (well, most of it great, missed bets (lori's for being drunk on mccann's mojave, mine for being broke on summer book) and lots of good talk.

Off the top of my head, highlights include:
1.) Finally putting faces with all the names (Kasept, Dellinger, Cajun, AntiTrust, SenttoStud)
2.) Steve being able to introduce us to Zito and Sweetnorthernsaint
3.) The seemingly endless supply of beer that comes from the Chicago guys
4.) Dinner after the Millions card in Lori's hood
5.) Being able to know that it was 8 degress here while I was having a beer and a cigaratte on the beach.

It was the best weekend in a long time...and Saratoga looks more tempting by the hour!

Thanks for everything to those who went!

As always, a great gathering... Glad everyone had such fun. That's what it's all about. Always great to see the Chicagoland guys.. Pleasure meeting Cajun, Brian and S2S (whom I embarassingly mistook for a "TeamChicago' guy with Dell, Barney and John... )

Thanks for making it a fun weekend for me..

It's beautiful and IMO, defnitely worth the trip. The paddock area was definitely not designed with the horses in mind (fountains in the middle and too close to the parking lot WTF? ) and there doesn't seem to be a lot of seating area for racing fans. I don't know how they plan on accomodating everyone for the Florida Derby... guess we'll find out soon enough.

With that said, it is a beautiful facility, but you can tell that the focus was on making it a "casino experience." Just my take...

Agreed completely.

It's not "racing-friendly," as the grandstand is insanely small and the building is just built awkwardly for racing...but it's mostly a glorified casino really.

It truly is a beautiful facility though and I couldn't think of many other places I'd rather spend an afternoon with some friends. It's really gorgeous.

Well if you are planning on going to opening weekend at Saratoga I'm sure you'll meet more in 176 days. LOL

Sign her up, boys! I was kind of scared over being the only female in Saratoga. Those Chicago boys are party animals.

That should be quite a topic for discussion when we wind up the afternoon for drinks at Siro's.

Oh goodness, I'm jealous that I can't go already! At least I can hang out with the Chi crew this summer at Arlington.

Yep, for some reason, I'm getting a picture in my head of one of you guys carrying Lori out of the bushes... haha.
