In less than 2 yrs I will be a Second Lieutenant probably heading overseas. If you were really in the Navy you have heard what I said about you many times. I don't seriously mean it, but we have been knocking you guys forever. My father was in the Navy, although the closest he ever got to fighting was dealing with crazy people when he was in Kenya.

I would also like to take this oppurtnity to remind people that all the things that are being said about the Iraqis not being able to handle democracy etc

was one of the excuses for slavery

as far as WMDs

I believe the terrorists already have nukes and are just waiting for something.
What I don't know...

There were no WMD's there. The CIA told them that too, but they twisted enough arms until they found someone who said they were there.

Most of us believe the war was being fought because they wanted to transform the middle east. Not because of oil, not because of WMD, but because these guys thought they could put a democracy in an arab country an everything would change. They were wrong, but some good things came out of the war, but the costs were too high for what we got out of it.

Democracy will not work there because the minority has no chance of ever being the majority. One group of people will always run the country. Once again it comes down to two groups of crazy religious people.

oh yeah, heard all the bs from the marines--btw, you do know what marine means? My Ass Rides In Navy Equipment. it's funny tho, the navy pilots don't act like they're a separate air force, but marines all have this huge ego-but they are most definitely sailors, much as they may hate it.

and i really was in, you want me to scan my dd214 for you?

No. I believe you. I like the Navy. I just have listened to my brother too long. He tells everyone he loves the Navy because every time he has to go fight somewhere the Navy gives him a ride there.

I do enjoy when people call him a soldier though. Drives him crazy.

^^^ Worst post in the history of Nerdy Trail, you sir, are a loser.

How can you say that to someone who has served in the military along with her husband and childern?

I'm sure your brother would be very disappointed with that comment you made.

No, the movie actually got it from Marines who have been saying it much longer than the movie has been out. It is not the other way around.

This is the country I live in, where people think the actual people fighting the wars are getting their words from make believe movie people. yesh.

You can't really be that clueless.

Coming from a person that has never served in the military, I am sure. I am in the military, even if it is just ROTC for now, but they send people like me overseas in less than 2yrs from now.

Members of the military and veterans always joke with other branches of the military. There is a rivalry between all the groups.

You probably wouldn't understand that because you have probably never served your country.

The line didn't come out of the movie. The line was in the movie and has been around long before the movie was made. Marines have been saying this for decades.

You were in the Navy, so you know many of you don't like the Marines, and many Marines don't like you squids. Marines of course don't like being told they are part of the Navy, even though it is true.

This race is OVER. McCain has a solid base now that he picked Palin and Obama a splintered base because of the Clinton voters. All Obama had to do was pick Clinton and it was over, but he is now toast.
