OK lets recap

you RIOT former repubicaan said " "Obama has a strong interest in, and understanding of, the myriad of complexities involving the various countries in the middle east. Tribal relations, power struggles, economics, historic, religious, etc. Carter had (and has) the same. Both "get it"

and I said

and with that strong interest and understanding of Tribal relations, power struggles, economics, historic, religious, etc. Carter has come to the conclusion that the persecution of the Palestinians now,(by Isreal) under the occupying territories—under the occupation forces—is one of the worst examples of human rights deprivation that he knows. Worse than Rwanda.

GET IT cause this is GOLDEN

I believe Gore's exact quote was, "I took the initiative in inventing the internet."

i did a brief search to see if she clarified her remarks, etc...

it's the first time i've ever done a search on the quote-i never knew she said 'really' before.

all this time, it was made out that she said it was the first time she was proud-when in actuality, she wasn't saying that at all. it's the first time she's been 'really' proud. unless of course, the site i just checked out isn't bonafide and the tape has been altered...
I have to give this one a bump. Nice work Zig.

watched it a few times but still don't hear the word 'really' before the word proud. Of course stupid me thought I knew the definition of 'is' until Clinton enlightened us all of the many different meanings of 'is'. Changed my signature anyway.

This whole thing arose because of discussion regarding Obama and his familial Muslim ties through his estranged father, and the great acceptance of his Cairo speech in the Muslim world. Are you just unable to understand that subtlety?

And btw, Colin Powell isn't even close to being "a lefty" via any objective analysis - his patriotism not withstanding

Bill Maher (who I can barely stand) said something good on CNN, and darn if I don't agree with Bill Maher on this one (this from the CNN website):

"Part of the problem is that we don't really have a progressive party in this country. We have the Democrats, who are what the Republicans used to be when I was a kid. They are a pro-business party; a corporate friendly, pro-business party. And then we have the Republicans, which are just just a club for angry white people and Jesus freaks. I don't know what they are."

[That Obama is moving the country towards socialism] is "so ridiculous because Barack Obama is not a socialist, he's not even a liberal. That's the point I'm trying to make. This country needs a left-wing. It doesn't have it.
So really what we have is a debate between the center-right, the Democratic party, and the far, far, far right, the Republican party. "

I would add that the 30% or so of the GOP that left last November to vote for Obama would return to the GOP, gladly, if the GOP returned to what they used to be, what I've known my whole life.

Thanks

Now I had to know the whole story, so I went and looked it up, yes, just another perpetuated false rumor (because it sounds so good), he was talking about internet technology initiatives, not "literally inventing" the internet. The entire long quote, and context, is here:

I thought Clinton was more famous for the absolutely specific, technical meaning of "sex", as he personally was thinking of at that brief moment in time when he was asked the question, and he said, "I did not have sex with that woman" (well, okay, in your world, where "sex" is only A, and never B, C, D, E .... )

you admire a man who has a hitleresque view of Isreal. That has been my point all along...

You agree that the Democrats are a corporate friendly, pro business party? Wow.

If 30% of the GOP voted for Obama why did he only get 53% of the popular vote? Those numbers dont add up.
