Default TB3-Twilight Meteor

Our boy was at it again today in the Hallandale. Wasn't sure if he'd run that well, but he's tenacious. hope you had him.

I got the notice a couple of days of go he was running.....WOW...just saw he paid $15. Was not able to make it to the OTB to bet him. Im sure you had him fairly well today....and you should feel very proud of his win today. Congrats and good seeing you.

Default Why NO J R ?

Now , i confess, i do pay attention to jockey/trainer combos. So, when I saw JR not riding Twilight Meteor I wondered why. Many times I will bet both, so I can retain some sanity. In this case I didnot use either of them. Prado, is certainly no slouch, but this is the reason the horse paid $15 to win and i wasn't on it. The only reason i could think of was that JV wouldnot be riding him next time and Prado would, so get him familiar with him in a race. Another thought was, maybe Pletcher will try him on the dirt next out and JV already has a couple of the prime Pletcher contenders.

They are considering the Lane's End for his next start.

J.V. has said in interviews that he and Cordero don't always pick the best of the Pletchers (esp. this summer at Saratoga w/ Gomez) he even joked that Cordero may have been a great rider, but his capping isn't nearly as good. The only way you can ever get a fair price on a Pletcher is by betting 'the other one'.
