Default Remembering Loughdoo

Sick, sick, sick.

From Racing Post.....

Owner to thank Francome for reward offer

by Graham Green

JOHN FRANCOME has put up a four-figure reward following the sickening attack on a former racehorse which resulted in him being destroyed.

The former champion jockey and Channel 4 Racing pundit was among animal lovers outraged following the Racing Post's reporting last week of the grim details surrounding thedeath of Loughdoo.

The 19-year-old was found drenched in blood and wandering around his paddock at Billinborough Fen, Lincolnshire, this month, after suffering horrific facial injuries.

Francome, appearing on The Morning Line on Saturday, said he would pay a reward of "a couple of grand" for information that leads to the perpetrators being brought to justice.

He added: “It sickens me there are people who would harm a defenceless horse for no reason.”

Loughdoo raced eight times under rules when trained by Richard Lee. He was renamed Pilgrim by Kylie Tidwell, whose family bought him in 1999, and who was on Sunday planning to contact Francome to thank him for his generosity.

Local and national publicity has already generated rewards totalling more then £3,00 to help police catch the offenders, and Tidwell said: "I just can't get over how kind and supportive people have been. It's unbelievable."

One individual has said that if his reward is not taken up, he will donate his £500to help 23-year-old Tidwell purchase a new horse.

How can someone be so sick to do such a thing to a horse?

That's horrible...the other day I got one of those requests for money from a rescue group in california ...they sent out an absolutely disgusting, graphic picture of a horse that they rescued which had been beaten about the head with a 2x4...
I hope they catch the sick **** who could do that to an animal.
