SAy it ain't so Barclay ! I got a seat at the finish line to see the Biz ! What a weak field is entered now. GRRRRRRR ........................................

MY BAD, AS POINTED OUT BY OTHER POSTS. SORRY FOR THE FALSE ALARM !

I believe that horses finishing 1-2-3 in the Holy Bull are automatically nominated to the Fountain. These series are frequently set up this way or that nominating for the top event in a series gets you into the leadups, etc..

It's either what Steve said or that a nomination to the Florida Derby includes the entire series. As of the other day he was expected to run.

Hope you're right. BUT, why are the pp's not including NOBIZ on the Gulfstream website ? and what do you make of the Hutcheson with 4 noms and 2 of those cross entered in the FOY ?

Prado is on Adore the Gold for the Fountain of Youth and he isn't on the nominations for the Fountain of Youth...maybe Nobiz is entered in the race...

BTW is correct. When you nominate for the Florida Derby, you are actually nominated for the "Florida Derby Series" which includes all of the GP 3yr old preps for the Florida Derby.

Right on all accounts.
The nomination list for many of the preps are completely different from who is actually in the race.
Check the nominations for the Bob Lewis Stakes this weekend at Santa Anita.
It shows a completely different group than the horses expected to be entered.

Why don't they include the Florida Derby series nominees together with the nominations to give a complete accounting of the horses ? This method seems incomplete, to say the least. I've not been up on this part of the game, as you can readily tell.
