Default Brady Quinn

at the NFL Combine, highly hyped Joe Thomas bench pressed 225 lbs 28 times. This guy is going to be one hell of a linemen.

Then you have Brady Quinn, who is a QB and bench pressed 225 lbs 24 times, which was more than a lot of linemen, most linemen actually. This guy is one hell of an athlete, a QB that strong, watch out, here he comes!

Cajun Gator, say overrated if you would like, but give him props for being a QB who lifted 225 lbs 24 times, just 4 less than this supposed BEAST of a linemen!

the REAL freak of the combine is calvin johnson wr from GT, 6'5" 240lbs. this guy showed up to interview only and saw how bad the 40 times were, barrowed a pair of shoes and legged out a 4.33 40 yd dash ! then went to the vertical jump and out jumped their measuring equipment!

Johnson biggest attribute might be that he has his
head on straight. Seems like a good person and
has some smarts

If a QB being strong and fast are the only important qualities the LSU QB will go before Quinn. Quinn lifting a lot of weight means nada. I still think Quinn will be a good QB but not because he is strong or fast.

im not saying it means a lot, I'm just pointing out that it is very impressive, that is all. I know football, I know that means nothing about being a good QB, it is just very very very impressive, that's all!

I think Quinn is a real tough competitor, and can make it in the NFL.He better not go to a team with a poor offensive line though. His decision-making, and footspeed are too slow for that.He is smart, and given enough time,he can make plays. If I had a decent offensive line, but the team lacked a certain "fire," then he would be somebody I would want on the team.Giants should take him.Let him learn for a year, and then kick Peyton's bro out of there.

success in the nfl today, is more about the "system", the team that drafts you runs. if you fit the system you, do well.

great example of this was jeff garcia. good qb with the 49ers (west coast offense), floats around abit and looks like his career is over. lands with the eagles and has a great year. andy reid learned the west coast offense with? the 49ers.

and if you don't believe that, ask LaVaar Arrington....imo one of the top 3 most dangerous defensive players (not considering the injury bug) and was basically demoted to 2nd string because he didn't fit into the system in Washington.....one of the reasons why the skins didn't come back this year as good as they were in '05....with a guy like Arrington, you fit the system around him....

Im still waiting for Quinn to actually win a game that has meaning. The guy is yet to show up in any big games. He's overrated, just as Notre Dame has been the past few years-they were demolished in their last two BCS games by Ohio St and LSU.

i dislike nd and i'm no BQ fan but it takes more than BQ to win those games. he just didn't have enough help. until nd get some defensive and OL help and they will NOT win big games. out scoring people doesn't beat good teams.

nd's recruits this year did not address either of the problems.

like every ND hater this year ,when the team is losing, you find the biggest name on the team (which is obviously Brady Quinn), and you throw all the blame on them. Brady Quinn did all he could the entire year, he just didn't have all the right pieces around him. The guy is tough and will be a hella good QB in the NFL!

what about those horrendous passes that he repeatedly threw vs LSU that were uncatchable b/c they were nowhere near his receivers? he sure had no problem hitting up the michigan DBs in south bend. I understand they didnt have the best talent, but they guy isnt going to have huge windows to throw to and there'll be plenty of pressure in the nfl for him. I dont root for ND, but I do want them to be good for college football. Im not totally blaming Quinn, their defense was slow and they had bad receivers. Great players find a way to overcome those problems. Just as you claim that Im quick to hate on Quinn all the "Rudys" are just as quick to annoint him the next great QB. I just don't believe all the hype around him; he won't be facing defenses like Army and Navy in the NFL
