This seems like a nice place to hang out. Have taken a look at the board a few times in the past year, yet only posted once before...... Have met many of you on my travels, very nice one and all, yes I even like Oracle..... My question here is this, I have early money in the futures on great Hunter, Circular Quay and Any Given Saturday. Thinking of buying again on all three if 12-1 or higher on any of em. Looking at a few others, any help would be appreciated. Birdbirdistheword- loved his progression last year, why the layup, anyone know? Adore The Gold- see a great cycle ahead for him, now just need price. Sam P- thinking he has a few jump ups about to happen....... Those are who I'm looking at. Missed out on Scat Daddy, dang I liked that horse, even more after his layoff race. and think Zanjero made one heck of a sustained move in his last. Also haven't been paying attention lately, why did Stormello travel to Gulf and not stay out west? thanks all, many more questions yet do not want to waste so much of your time. Everyone in New Orleans enjoy......... will Invasor retire after Dubai? gotta go IU/ UofI starts soon.

I'd wait until Derby Day to bet the ones you already have- With a likely 20 horse field it's very unlikely that you won't be able to get similar odds with a better opinion after watching the rest of the preps. . .

Birdbirdistheword- Obviously you want to wait until after he races tommorow to bet him in the futures. . . I have a feeling you won't love him after that. . .

Adore the Gold- He's my early Derby horse. . . You may be able to get better odds with him offshore somewhere but I wouldn't know. . . I think he wins the Florida Derby and goes off at well under 30-1 in the KY Derby

Zanjero- Maybe I'd take him in the futures if they offered place or show betting but he doesn't look like a Derby winner to me at all. . .

I think the little bit of value in the futures is gone at this point. . .

Future bet isn't a good idea at all. In order for it to be worth your while the horse would have to go off at huge odds, make it to the derby and be at less than double digits to make it worth your while. The risk doesn't equal the reward. I know there have been exception. Fusaichi Pegasus comes to mind. 8-1 in the future pool and around 9/5 in the derby. I know it seems like a good idea from that last examble but I would have to get 50-1 on someone to justify the risk.

All that said I had a future bet last year and got place. Didn't put a time on Bluegrass Cat ..thought he was over the top and done early. doh!
