Changes in Adena Springs 2YO sale
I love this, it's a start to reform a sales practice which has gotten out of hand IMO and is ruining the end product...they are not going to ask the late foals for speed, they will only gallop. i do think it is important to see how a horse moves but the ridiculous 10 second dash at the sales does little IMO to indicate future success and hurts more horses than anything else...look at the Monkey...

For as screwed up as Magna is on the frontside, Stronach and company do a damn good job on the horse side.
Other than making you bed on that crap they make. |

Really kind of Strange that is what they have been doing all along nothing really different in years past. Nothing wrong with that though. Frank gets up and gives his same speech every year before the sale starts about how our 2 year olds are not pushed. Heck I have to walk most all of my horses when Adena has there show days, 3/4 of my riders go out there to work the day

I guess everyone is just now taking note that they are doing it that way. |

In Japan, the horses are not allowed to go faster than 13 seconds a furlong.I think the seller gets a fine if they do.

Someone knock some sense into those insanely mad 220 yard dashes those youngsters have to do. It is absolute lunacy. Whoever started that needs to be caned repeatedley. Right on Frankie.
