On the TVG bashing bandwagon!
I know a lot of people on this board like to bash TVG. I never really understood it, but after yesterday I am aboard. For me it is more of a production issue. Yesterday I was playing Tampa and it was 1 of the 4 that TVG was covering. So I am waiting for the 5th race to be shown and guess what it never comes. And what do they show in it's place, the post parade and 7 minutes of horses warming up from Turfways 3rd or 4th. They never even showed the race on tape delay. Then they did the same for Tampa's 6th, but at least that one got on the air about 10 minutes after the race went off. Of course they showed the results on the bottom ticker before they even showed the tape delayed 6th race, but I guess I am lucky the race made the air. You would think with them losing tracks every week that they would at least show the races from the tracks that they do cover. Also I did not see any of the early Fairgrounds action live either, it was all on delay. It is inexcusable, it's not like it was a stakes race at Turfway or live races at any other track. It was 7 minutes of horses warming up at Turfway. But I guess it was seven minutes of air time for two guys (thank God not Schrupp) that everyone usually bashes for lame commentary and pick 4 tickets. I guess I will just watch all my races on the computer from now on, and cancel my TVG. Then again I will miss all of that exclusive coverage of horses warming up and great commentary from Turfway and Los Al!

Yeah but then Corruthers would have less time to talk about the quarter horse he's singled at the big A.

Don't catch a fallen knife. You got to learn to hit the mute button. I don't see how they are going to survive in the long run.

i also hate when the race is about to go off then they have to go do some lame commercial tv break, or when they show it on tape delay but then you can see the race and results behind them on the TV wall.

What will really kill you is on a day like today, when you want to see a race and they show Meadowlands harness instead of your race.

Oh yeah, they were pretty interested in the early races from Turfway, yet they showed the Lane's End on a Tape Delay. At least they did show it, but when pretty much all of the eyes of the racing world were on that race, they had it on a Delay?
Just amazes me. I know that I have called Comcast and ask them to pick up HRTV, especially after Churchill bails on TVG, and I suggest that everyone else do the same... ALostTexan |

The reason for the tape delay is due to the ESPN coverage. They can only show it in delay.

I was a big TVG guy but it is slipping fast. Any one know if The Wroks was cancelled with their fallout with CD? That was always worth recording.

I have heard that HRTV might increase the frequency of Target Louisville during that week (it's only once a week now), but I don't have confirmation of that.
