![]() Oh I'm so excited for the horse and connections. I won't call my feelings about him a 'tout' by any means as I didn't feel obligated to call him out, it was more a "I'd love it if this horse did good" based on who his relation is and his people. That isn't the same as "watch him kick butt"... I had a feeling today specifically when Mike was all 'he's got more speed than Giacomo' that it would perhaps bode extremely well for him at some point. Whatever else happens, good for him.
I've got a few horses that I don't necessarily have as my idea for winning the Derby purely on talent but I definitely have a soft spot should they get it done. Does that make sense to anybody? |

![]() Let's all not forget what an excellent race King of the Roxy ran. He was wide and ran a negative number last time, was stretching---and still ran well. Nice horse.

![]() He has much more speed than Giacomo, but been giving it up after making big middle moves.Classic blinkers off/lets- relax- boy move.Mikey just fits these connections(understands trainers methods etc.)

i'd say tiago has the better shot of the two. tiago has the right breeding, and if the race sets up right, and he gets the right trip, yeah he can win. king of the roxy--i wouldn't pick him to win it. i'm leaning towards great hunter....been following hard spun all spring, but just because i thought he was a nice colt, not that i thought he was future derby material. if he shows up, i'll pull for him-but i think great hunter is the one to beat. cowtown cat is one to watch as well. i like distorted humor, and we know he can sire a derby horse-but i question his bottom half. plenty of time between now and cinqo de mayo...a lot can happen. things are really starting to get interesting!
