Default Brass Hats DQ stands

This sucks for the trainer and jock. They miss out on $100k each (if they get the normal 10%). Wilko got moved up to 2nd. Wilko has got to be one of the richest horses on the planet that has only won 1 Graded race.

Total bull****.. No N.A. connections should EVER go there again...

And FYI, Buff Bradley owns Brass Hat with his father Fred, so the loss is a lot more than a standard trainer's 10%... Willie Martinez gets screwed out of $120,000.. The grooms and stablehands all were getting nice bonuses too from the Bradley's... Just hideous.

Instead, Susan Roy and Paul Reddam get the money. Disgusting.

Yeah it sucks. $120k to Willie is a good chunck of change. This just hurts everyone involved in the horse that day.

Ya know, I'm all for stringing up any and all cheaters, and would be happy to volunteer for the job, but this really sucks.

Funny how the Sheik's horses never fail tests for the big races over there yet are invariably too infirm to compete much of the rest of the year.

I guess it could have been worse, had Willie Martinez given a smarter ride, and not put him into a drive at the 3/8s pole, he may well have been DQ'd out of the whole pot.

Some consolation.

WOW, I really didn't think the DQ would stick. That really sucks. I'm with Kasept, lets keep our good horses here. Thats such a long, grueling trip anyway.

I like that day of racing. Its a nice diversion from the bores of Gulfstream and provides a nice oasis from the Inner Dirt track at Aqu, which I like but get kind of sick of by late March. This isnt the first time a horse got DQ'ed that didnt deserve it or vice versa.

It's not like we don't have a ton of rich Americans around that have the power to correct this.If somebody really wants to do something righteous, then pay this owner/trainer,and jock what they deserve, and show that we can make it right.Money is power.Somebody needs to step up,and use their power for good. The one time Willie Martinez has a chance to make really good money, and he gets screwed out of it.Even if you think the connections are wrong for the infraction, somebody should step up and make it right for Willie.Everybody says these jocks risk their lives etc.,and here is a chance to make a wrong right(for a journeyman hard-working jock.)

Warren Buffet just gave the Bill Gates Philanthropic Fund ohhh.... 35 billion. Ya think they would give a little dust grain of that... for horse racing?
Nix that idea.

Default total BS

I'm with Steve, boycott Dubai. The Classic and the sprint will be real boring without the N.A. contingent. Let them race against each other. I believe the S.A. contingent also left Dubai this year with a bad taste in their mouth as well. Maybe they'll drop out as well. I just hope there is some way to make those people who worked so hard on this whole again.

That filly that he trained for Team Valor got her leg stuck in the paddock before the Duty Free and they scratched her. Apparently De Kock thought she could run anyway and sent her out on the track and they denied his request to let her run.

She came back and won a big one (I think the QEII) in Hong Kong a few weeks later over Ouija Board.

Irridescense is the filly's name, and she was the full sister to another runner in the race named Perfect Promise that was trained by Lee Freedman.
