Default Men/Women Guilty Pleasure Movies

Since the negativity is killing me around here today, a fun thread.

According to this study, the movies that men can watch over and over again are the Star Wars ones....For women, that old mainstay Dirty Dancing.

i think the makers of that movie should be shot. patrick swayze is horrible, as is jennifer gray. my daughter had it on the other day, i gave her so much grief she had to change the channel.

now, tombstone--if we flip thru channels and it's on, we'll watch it--jaws as well.

I can't stand "Dirty Dancing". My daughter and I like a good thriller. "Mindhunters was the most recent one we watched. Deb

Dudes, the thread is "Guilty Pleasures." If it's a good movie, it doesn't need to be guilty. I feel no shame over loving "Star Wars" and "Empire Strikes Back." Now, "The Phantom Menace"- that'd be a guilty pleasure if I liked it, which I don't.

I love "Dirty Dancing." Total guilty pleasure. Also, "Race With the Devil"- Loretta Swit and Peter Fonda on the run in a Winnebago from Redneck Satanists in Texas! Love it!

love those, have the first two on tape.

but i don't feel guilty watching them...gen is right, should be a cheesy movie.

but i'm not much of a movie fan...let me think of a movie that most wouldn't like....

well, i have to admit, i enjoy merchant/ivory productions, such as howards end.

I define "guilty pleasures" differently.

I define them as chick-flicks that guys like to watch, or action macho films that women like to watch. Or movies that you know are awful but you can't get enough of.

For me:
The Breakfast Club, Bend it like Beckham (the movie title is deceiving if you haven't seen it), Dreamgirls, Big Fish (a tear-jerker)... I'm kinda drawing a blank right now, so these probably aren't the best examples.

But like for TV shows, I love Queer Eye and Project Runway... guilty pleasures.

I think "The Breakfast Club" is an excellent guilty pleasure for anyone over 17.

I love "Clash of the Titans." Love it. Own it.

TV shows. America's Next Top Model and Project Runway are definitely guilty pleasures.

I still like the original "Waltons" movie-"The Homecoming". It was before it was picked up as a series. Haven't seen it in awhile though. They used to play it around Christmas.

Randall,
I forgot about Next Top Model. I never watch them in season, but MTV and VH1 seem to marathon the older seasons a lot. I get caught up in the them more than I should... to the point where they'll burn a Saturday afternoon lol.

"Dallas" Seasons One and Two on DVD. Truly, truly awesome. Sue Ellen drinks the whole way through her pregnancy. You'd never see that on TV today.

I can't believe I like that show that much but i do. And I'm not a reality TV fan. Never watch Idol or the like....But something about those 2 shows. Plus I think Tyra is great. The next Oprah except better.

For Tv shows, "The Partridge Family". I think I can probably still sing most of the songs albeit not well.

Well, TV guilty pleasures...American Idol comes to mind first. Also Cleopatra 2525, Sabrina and Hercules (not sure if that's a guilty pleasure as it has some content and is the precursor to Xena)

Well, for TV I'd say American Idol.

For movies it is hands down Gator Bait II: Cajun Justice
