Default 5/31: BELMONT (Carryover)

Carryover into Thursday of $262,000 with opportunity to hit seven figures: a rarity on the NYRA circuit... Five of the sextets' events are grass heats, adding to the degree of difficulty, and a large ticket appears the most likely approach for success. Have been ice cold last 3-4 cards we've had a chance to cap, so my approach will be prudent...

POST-SCRATCHES...

BELMONT PARK (4th-9th)

4th: CLM, 4+, 8.5f-IT (P6, P3)

1. #4 Ricardo A 5-1: Sharp dirt form and back success on lawn..
2. #5 Unigold 5-2: KMc 7yo 1-3-0 last 5; Drops off ALW score this sod.. WON
A. #6 Too Risky 6-1: Micelli 0/18 meet, but 5yo 3rd/break and adds Coa..
B. #2 Taming the Tiger 12-1: '05 Realization hero won off 18 month break; keeps Edgar..

5th: MSW, F&M-3+, 8.5f-T (Grand lam, P3, Super)

1. #8 Impressionism 5-2: Janney-bred miss by $300k winner goes lawn, retains Edgar..
2. #5 Winsome Ways 2-1: Mott red circled wide on KEE main last; gets back to grass with GoGo.. WON
A. #3 Miss Poison 9-2: Tagg debuts Kingmambo bay with Corny..
B. #4 Street Party 6-1: Grass-bred half to Leelanau and Abraaj bows for Albertrani..

LONGSHOT/EXOTICS ADD: #7 Awesome Catch 30-1: Bay out of full sister of Cat Thief adds blinks; has to be better then first two..

6th: MSW, 3+, 6f-T (P4, DD, Super)

1. #9 Justy 9-5: $745k yearling by Danehill yet to justy-fy price.. WON
2. #2 Peace Mon 8-1: Kiaran can have them ready and Garcia new go-to guy..
A. #6 Baletti 10-1: Expensive KEE '05 bay by Gulch turns back for Violette; adds Gomez..
B. #3 Intuition Magic 4-1: Likely cripple from ultimate wiseguy Ward bulleted..

7th: NYB-OC/N2X, F&M-3+, 8.5f-T (P3)

1. #1 (poe) Whateverwillbwillb 2-1: Away since Nov., possible single crushes these if ready..
2. #8 Square Dancing 12-1: Ignore winter form and 5yo grey a fit..
A. #6 Appealing Mystery 12-1: Turner 5yo ran best career race with lawn return last..
B. #7 Fiddlers Pleasure 5-1: At level forever, best of those here from 5/13 event..

8th: ALW/N2X, F&M-3+, 9f-IT (DD)

Day's best quality race super intriguing.. Euros look appealing, but Tagg (#3) and Alexander (#6) offer upset-minded big price options..

1. #4 Makderah 7-2: KMc import faced better and fired shots at Goodwood, Ascot.. WON
2. #7 Cologne 3-1: Shug-Phipps product totes 0/13 streak into this and will likely lose ground early..
A. #6 Itsnotthemoney 15-1: State bred offers value exiting best try yet off break..
B. #1 For Always 4-1: Carlos' War Chant filly seems primed saving ground under Edgar..

9th: NYB-MDN CLM, F&M-3+, 6f (Super)

Dreadful group to end P6.. #10 Clearly a Thrill SCRATCHED..

1. #9 Astoria Sweetheart 2-1: Frog with the least worts.. 3rd
2. #6 Katnik 4-1: Albertrani firster won't have to be much.. WON
A. #1 Flame On 15-1: Scratch substitute for #10..
B. #8 Kitty Nip 6-1: Candlin or not, hard to leave out filly with 3 ITM tries.. 2nd

LONGSHOT/EXOTICS ADD: #4 Bad Deal 20-1: Last less horrible than usual..

<$100 P6 Play:

4: 4-5
5: 5-8
6: 9
7: 1-6-8
8: 4-7
9: 6-9

2x2x1x3x2x2 = 48 x $2 = $96 5 of 6 $38.20 (x 3 consos) = $114.60

<$50 P4 Play:

6: 1-2-3-6-8-9
7: 1
8: 1-3-4-7
9: 6-9

6x1x4x2 = $48

Good luck!
Steve

Minor scratches (Clearly a Thrill in 9th is one), but made some changes to selections...

Steve,

Earlier you said you were going to take a stand against Cologne in the 8th, now I see you have included.

If I may ask, what changed your mind? Now you have me worried as I took a stand against too.

Mike,

Had more trouble with this race than any other.. Could use 6.. More I looked the more it seemed Cologne was simply a must include...

I agree with the difficulty of the race. The inside three could step up and give the logical choices fits.
