Default My Typhoon impressive today

You just can't let a top horse go 25, 24 on the lead...Wait A While strangled early and couldn't make up any ground on the winner!

And Gomez is supposed to be a top guy? Goes to show that none of them are rocket scientists. This race was over 1/4 mile in.

i really didnt appreciate that ride on wait a while, i guess the jockey thought he was doing the right thing, but I am never a fan of seeing a horse strangled.

Too true. That race had no pace. Not impressed.

Cmon, Wait A While of her top form last year would have had no problem accelerating depite the pace, she got opened up on when the running started, she is clearly not the same filly and headed for retirement no doubt.

The experiment on Polytrack last time may still have effects on her...you are right, not the same filly we saw last year!

Ya can't go that slow early and expect to make any thing up. Just my 2 pennies worth.

She was a length behind just before the stretch and then 4 behind, how did that happen? That had nothing to do with the pace of the race.

From what little I know, if a horse is strangled early, it wastes a lot of energy later.
you might be right that something is wrong with her, but I don't think so.
The jockeys were playing a game early. Neither wanted the lead.
Choke, choke, choke.

she had several slow paces last year where she had to do the same thing.

I'm not arguing with you.
Heck, each race sets up a little bit differently, despite similarities.
Giving My Typhoon the lead after going that slow early doesn't bode well for catching her.
From my experience being around 'em, horses are different from day to day.
I sure hope nothing is wrong with Wait a While. I've always liked her.
Maybe today she just didn't fire.

i know, just discussing the race....I dont think its a big deal that Wait A While was beat because My Typhoon is solid and she did get a good setup, its the way she was beat that would be big concern if you ask me.

Yup, no disagreemnt there. The one that really disppointed me was Miss Shop. She looked like she was coming and fizz city. H Allen usually does better prepping, especially after a slow early.
My Typhoon just had her day today.
No big blame.
Hope they all came out well.
