Default EDDIE MURRAY gets canned

They haven't hit very well against good pitching.Lost 6 in a row to Angels and Padres(good pitching teams.)Dodgers won 3 in a row against Mets, but it was mainly with some hot youngsters hitting some bad Mets pitching.I doubt these same guys can hit good pitching. So,this is about Garciaparra having like what? 1 home run? Kent has always been a good hitter with nobody on base, but with men on base........not much nad.Furcal has not hit good pitching.Pierre hasn't been a good signing.Gonzo has been doing well, but pretty much the same situation........can't hit good pitching. So,they realize that they are going nowhere unless they score against good pitching teams. I still say Grady should be gone for letting one pitcher face 9 batters in the bottom of the 9th,and losing the game 6-5(after going to the mound with a 5-1 lead.)Same pitcher has returned to pitch great this week. So,it's simply a case of a guy choking when he allows men on base.Grady doesn't know his pitchers. That Broxton is a choker when it gets tough.Grady was simply wrong a week ago tonite, and he should be gone. That was unfit management on display. So,don't ever tell me this guy is a good manager.A good manager doesn't let one guy face 9 batters when he is choking out there.Let's face it.FATBOY BROXTON is not the guy to clean up his own vomit. So,leaving him in (after he gets into trouble) is borderline retarded.

It's about this team putting skirt on when facing good pitching teams. That's what it is about. One of those losses was last Thursday night. The Dodgers scored enough runs to win(5,) but this idiot leaves a choker in for 9 f'n batters of total ***** pitching. So,all I am saying is if they are gunna hold Murray accountable for Garciaparra,Kent, and Pierre etc.,then why shouldn't the damn manager be held accountable for last Thursday's loss? Because that loss is on him.Anybody knows this Broxton is not much when guys start getting on base. So,that's the manager's loss for just sitting there looking like he got constipation. He should of been canned Friday. That's his pathetic management that lost that game.People want to divert attention away from this guy,and so they get rid of one of his coaches.Garciaparra's been hitting for how long? I don't know why he can't do what he should be doing.F'N MR. Magoo SEEMS TO POP OUT HALF THE DAMN TIME.He is just not seeing the ball well this year.Who knows why Pierre is hitting crappy this year.Kent is being Kent(useless in clutch against any decent pitching.) They want to blame Murray for that? O.K...I really could care less if he is canned or not,but I do know the manager is responsible for them not being the leaders of this division.Hell, add last Thursday's game into the win column, and they are leaders of the division. Then, how many games has this idiot started that gas can Tomko in this year? Dumbo had misfound confidence in that guy.How about we just admit Grady was wrong about Tomko? That's another 3 games they could have won. Then the idiot sits on the bench when Schmidt is getting lit up.God forbide ya take that gas can out too early..right....I mean he'll start throwing 93 anytime now..right Grady.Needs to get his damn ass out there ,and get these gas cans out before they have a 6 run inning.I mean,to say he is slow to take a struggling pitcher out is wrong. He is not just slow about it.He is Grandma-with-cane slow to get guys out of there. That's another 2 games they could of probably won.I'd say they would be leading by 5 games with any kind of real manager. They are mismanaged

See,that's why they never win championships anymore. You're happy with mediocracy.Somebody points out the truth to you,and you get cute and paint them as negative.Any manager that does nothing (until the starting pitcher has given up 6 runs ) is worried too much about hurting feelings.Pitchers go to the mound with three situations possible.1)They are on their game.2)They are not as sharp as they would like, but are able to get people out.3)They have nothing. This manager here waits too long to take action about the 3rd situation.Just seems very willing to get the team buried. He really thinks these guys are gunna start turning it on.They don't.They would if they could, but they can't.He sits there, and gives away games.Sometimes before the team even gets 2 or 3 chances to hit. I will never understand how that guy can be considered fit to manage in the majors.Other teams know if they can figure a guy out, then they are gunna get to hit that ragdoll pretty hard before he has to get off the mound.

When the O'Malleys sold the Dodgers the new owners didn't buy the Tradition with the sale. Dodgers fans have been putting 3 million + in the stadium to watch a .500 team. This is the future .500 and nothing in the farm system.

YO Scuds: I agree with you! So stop with the "happy with mediocrity" crap! And I haven't sad anything negative to you or your posts! And you might want to check around both leagues and look at ALL the mediocrity below .500 who aren't leading their divisions. Maybe that will make you happy.

Colletti is a bad GM and will be the undoing of the Dodgers. Not blowing up the team and getting something of value for Kent and maybe Nomar and going with the young players will bury them eventually. Kent, Nomar and Gonzo are all fading (nomore especially) offensively and defensively. The signing of Pierre was stunning and obviously they did a poor job of evaluating Schmidt's health (though I thought he would he great at Dodgers Stadium, I did not know he would be throwing 82 mph fastballs) They have a pretty solid NL staff though Grady will eventually kill them. His bullpen management as pointed out by scuds is awful but it was in his previous stints too. They have some good young players, Loney, Ethier, Betemit, Abreu are all ok and could develop, Martin is very good, Kemp may be ok, LaRoche is supposed to be a star, Valdez and Hull should be ok and Kuo may be a star. But they are chasing the fools gold of the NL west and instead of developing players for a strong run over the next few years, they play their hand like they are one piece away and sign a broke down pitcher for $14mill a year, and one of the worst players in the majors for $50mill and a 75 year old left fielder.

Cannon Shell: I'll try to hit the high spots! I think Colletti is Tons better that Depodesta...Pierre is a mediocre fielder who's lost a step, but haven't completely given up on him. Martin is a Stud ...for a long time to come hopefully. Everybody is stunned by Schmidts situation,I'm sure.(Dreifort comes to mind) Kent is probably done after this year, but can still provide ample power. Gonzo is not a bad addition considering his attitude and occasional power. This team needs to get mad or something! They start slow most of the time except when their pitchers are "ON". You can only win so many games in the 9th! I would like a manager like Leyland(or Guillen,fo realz)

The Dodgers were built on a good farm system that always had young talent. When was the last time the Dodgers were able to bring up a player that could have some impact. The few that did come up got traded.

They probably have a decent farm system....Ethier,Robles etc etc. But Fox took the short term method and failed miserably...and McCourt came in on a shoestring so....we just wait for the scouts(few that are left) and the Draft gives us something.

Pierre is a brutal player. The last time Penny pitched his OBP was only .16 behind Pierre. The guy is awful. Does almost nothing positive. Weak in the field, no arm, never walks, has zero power. All he can do is run and he is not even as good as he used to be. They could have had Gary Matthews for the same money. Why would anyone be shocked by Schmidt? He has not been healthy in years. I wrongly assumed he was healthy when this idiot gave him a huge contract. If they guy had no history and he just got hurt it would be understandable. But he had a history and they did it anyway. They would have been better served to sign Roger Clemens and me as opposed to Schmidt and Pierre. Because at least one of us would help the team this season and both of us would have signed one year contracts and not hurt the team for years to come.

The Dodgers aren't very creative in their attempts to improve the team!

Whole season probably will come down to whether KUO can pitch like the ultra-confident guy he was the other night.Without him pitching well, they have 2 1/2 good starters(LOWE,PENNY,WOLF.)Hendrickson, and Schmidt seem to be useless to the team (now atleast.) They could try Billingsley, but he is pretty much a mental lightweight( his stuff is good enough.) Billingsley, and Broxton both have real nice stuff, but both want to hide under the table when guys get on base.If these two ever grow a set, this team could be pretty tough.
