Default La Femme Nikita

Just finished re-watching the five years of this show (last was only 8 episodes, brought back after cancellation cause of fan interest). Sometimes when I haven't seen a show for awhile, I forget how good it was, this is certainly an example! If you like Alias, this show preceeded it and, in my opinion, is much better. Peta Wilson is simply stunning and Roy Dupuis as Michael has created one of the coolest characters (for want of a better description) to ever air on television. Twists and turns keep you guessing from the first episode to the last and the supporting characters (especially Walter, Operations, Madeline and Berkhoff) are more interesting than many lead characters on other shows. Add great background music (everything from Iron Butterfly on) and great technology (even by today's standards) and you have a simply wonderful show!

One of my favorite shows..way ahead of its time. And NIKITA... Did she ever resurface after the show ended?

Peta was in a few movies I believe..."League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" for one. I thought she was very good as Nikita, displayed a lot of believable emotion and kicked ass with the best. Roy Dupuis was one of a kind as Michael...this was a show before it's time but at least being on USA gave it a little freedom...we would have never seen Peta and Roy's butts on network TV. They had planned a spinoff (the episode with the young recruits that Nikita and Michael had to train) but USA cancelled after season four...fan support is credited with them doing a season five (8 episodes). Despite a couple issue I have (ie: Operations within a second of cancelling Berkhoff in one episode and mourning his loss the very next episode for example), I think the writers were great...edgy stuff with all sorts of moral issues woven into story lines that had more twists and turns than anything on tv. No doubt about it though...Peta Wilson is 10x sexier than Jenifer Garner!

If you haven't, you should get the DVD's and watch it through....as you know, I prefer fantasy as a genre but LFN is my highest ranked non-fantasy show by far! It really is a shame that it didn't go a few more years, there was/is nothing quite like it on tv.

Yeah, most critics loved the French film and were critical of the second one...I liked them both! La Femme Nikita starts out very similar to Fonda's film (I think the folks behind LFN own the rights to the movie...in fact, I'm sure of it cause they used Fonda's stunt double to escape down the trash shoot in the kitchen and also some other footage from the film in the pilot). Peta did a lot of her own stunts however...she's very athletic (and sexy, beautiful, stunning...you get my drift). Roy Dupuis as Michael is much better than the actor who played Fonda's trainer in Section. The strength of the show lies in the characters and their relationships...Nikita and Michael rank among the best couples ever on TV imo! If you liked the movie, I think you'd love the show...so many twists and turns that you simply can't see coming! Great action...Michael is one badass mf...and by the end of year one, so is Nikita!

So? I'm always curious when someone makes a post like that...this isn't a poll, some folks here, myself and others, like the show. If you haven't ever seen it, I recommend it...whether you watch it or not is up to you...I just don't understand bothering to post that you've never seen it??
