Default 6/27: Belmont (4th-9th)

BELMONT PARK

POST-SCRATCHES..

A thoroughly entertaining set of races from at least the 4th onwards today on Long Island!

4th: NYB-OC/C, F&M-3+, 8.5f-T (P6, P3, Super)

1. #8 Square Dancing 6-1: Galluscio mare 3rd off break; Came wide last..
2. #7 Whateverwillbwillb 2-1: C. Martin 4yo sharp in '07 return.. 4th
A. #4 Against the Grain 5-1: Merits big shot if lawn to her liking.. 3rd
B. #2 Higher Incentive 3-1: 3rd off layoff for Contessa (as 'Laudatti').. 2nd

LONGSHOT/SUPER ADD: #6 Inca is Calling 8-1 5th

5th: CLM/N2L, F&M-3+, 6f-T (Grand Slam, P3)

1. #3 Innovator 3-1: Bond's Behrens bay better and better this year..
2. #5 Meadow Belle 10-1: 'Super G' still seeking duck-breaker at meet..
A. #4 Leaveitinthering 5-1: Lostritto mare earned checks in 10 of 11 career..
B. #1e Gullo entry 8-1: Respectable pair from GG..

6th: MDN CLM, 3+, 7f-T (P4, DD)

1. #11 Ivory Star 3-1: Seems at right level..
2. #4 Granny Franny 2-1: Dogwood giving up on $120k Grand Slam miss?
A. #9 Morereadythannot 12-1
B. #3 Fast Read 12-1

7th: ALW/N1X, 3+, 8.5f-T (P3)

Very good turf ALW here with Prince Rahy (#4) a bet-against in our mind.. Passing on Snowstalker (#6) as well..

1. #7 Compromise 4-1: Mott Point Given red came out running in debut..
2. #3 Mister White Socks 3-1: KMc turns to new 'go to' guy Garcia..
A. #5 Dancing Tin Man 10-1: Soph debut very solid; Threat with any progress..
B. #8 Kris Angel 8-1: Chased Red Giant last pair; Sciacca 4yo in form..

FYI NOTE: #1 Pick Six: Phipps runner bred nicely for lawn..

8th: The Stage View, NYB-F&M, 3+, 7f-T (DD, Super)

Super competitive grass sprint with a variety of possibilities.. Could well blow the multi-race plays apart..

SCRATCH NOTE: #13 Iron Goddess draws in and is worth using as a cover in multis.. One option is keying her in Doubles as a safety..

1. #6 Sabellina 5-1: Back to racing after shed try failed; May lay over on class..
2. #5 Willshefire 8-1: Instantly ran career best 'first time Tagg'..
A. #10 Artistic Express 6-1: Chased big time gals in Beaygay..
B. #12 Wild Berry 6-1: Gorham has been dangerous with his NYB ship-ins..

LONGSHOT/SUPER ADD: #2 Homerette 12-1: Kelly stake winner may be lost on the board; Owns win this trip and a threat with return to best..

9th: NYB-MDN CLM, 3+, 6f (Super)

1. #8 He's Tough 5-1: May be appropriately named versus these..
2. #10 First Expression 4-5: Serpe going well but this one is 11x loser..
A. #7 Passing Dream 10-1: As eligible as any for underneath..
B. #2 Housebid 20-1: Bailes poor in NY since Scrappy T; Could improve off claim..

<$50 P4 Play: 4x2x3x2 = $48

<$100 P6 Play: 3x2x2x2x1x2 = 48 x $2 = $96

Good luck!
Steve

What happened to the posts on this thread?

Who you like in the 3rd? I am trying to convince myself to single Pletcher but Dutrow looks a little tough, but horse doesn't like the whip

Looking at the changes I notice that in the 8th Sabellina is now marked INFOAL. I've never seen this before but of course I may have overlooked it in the past. I can't view this as a positive. What have others expierence with betting on prego horses ?

Yeah, I don't do it. She has to be far along now also because she was prego like 6 months ago at Duct......

Both Sabellina and Iron Goddess are listed 'in foal.' And I also read this as part of a bloodhorse article, which makes me like Sabellina even less..(in this race anyway). She may be among the best running, but it looks like a prep for her:

"Sabellina, the two-time champion New York-bred female turf horse, will run in foal to Pulpit. Trainer Joe Aquilino said he is using this race as a training tool for longer races.

"I expect her to run good," said Aquilino, who has Edgar Prado to ride. "We don't have to send her. Hopefully, there's a lot of pace, and she should make a nice closing run
." "

Some say the raging hormones while pregnant can make the horse run quite well. It has never scared me away, I treat them like any other in the race. The biggest thing with mares in foal is to make sure they didn't lose too much training or have enough training in them to be ready for the race.

Belmont changes: http://www.equibase.com/premium/changes/BEL-changes.asp

Had spoken to Chuck earlier about Sabellina whom he has shared with Aquillino for several years. He said that she was doing well.

Anyone know anything about this Kim Laudati that has a few horses in today?

I am looking at playing an early PK4 and I see she has horses 2, 3, & 4. As well as the 6th.

Contessa's in the penalty box for a week - a vet inadvertantly double dosed one and they caught it...I don't know a thing about him/her...

Ahh, makes sense now that I see some have the "Previously trained by Contessa."

Thanks.

For fun...

Early PK4

Race 2: 3, 4, 6, 8
Race 3: 1, 3, 6
Race 4: 2, 4, 7, 8
Race 5: 3

4 X 3 X 4 X 1 = $48.

Good thing I said for fun...bah! Tried to beat the favorite and lost, oh well, next time...

Featherbed is getting the attention (and should), but currently getting a nice price on the 7 Cherokee Sheik - 8/1 up from ml 4/1....throw out the 4 wide nightmare over the polytrack and he fits here...I'm not going to be shocked if the Forrestry filly (5) has something to say as well...

Dutrow's entry (6 Starship Cruiser) at 7/5 is a huge bet against imo...big jump from state bred opt 30 to OC opt 75

I actually like Dutrows horse here, against a not so star stellar field. I think there is something not right with Featherbred, who has tons of gaps in her form as well as the Cherokee's Run filly coming off a sept. layoff. We shall see

Alright folks, we are alive to a $47 pick four right now with single by 2 horses. I will say that I am not singled to JV's horse in the next

and thats why i have been stuck on this iceberg for a month with picks like that, Featherbred look impressive, and it looked like the Cherokee's Run filly needed more distance

Wow....don't think I saw one single thing to like about that horse...good for Gary...

as long as everyone's dead in the early P4, I'll root on the 9 for an $11,530.00 Pick 4 payout on a buck...
