Default Anyone want a loving older dog?

I have to find homes for both my dogs as well as Cal....both are older dogs, very loving with minimal care needed. Gizmo is a 5yo pure blood English Mastiff, he's down to about 180 pounds (I estimate) as I try and keep weight off due to giant breeds having hip issues, he has some arthritis and two aspirin are all he needs when he gets a bit stiff. Very very gentle...loves kids, all people and gets along great with other dogs, cats...is a bit scared of horses. Skippy is 8yo, he's 3/4 greyhound (father was a racer, mother half greyhound), smaller than most greyhounds but a great hunter...rabbits, squirrels, even groundhogs but gentle with cats (inside and out). Loves all people and likes horses. Both are fixed and kept inside except for turnouts for toilet. Gizmo seldom barks (one or two woofs when company knocks) and Skippy never (greyhound thing). I need good homes and will give either/both to same!

John,

If I had known this a month ago, I may have been able to, but I now have two bitches (LOL) living in the house with me and I don't think my landlord would jump at the idea of another one in the house too. So sorry...

I hope to God that you don't have to put either one of them in a shelter. I know that Mastiff rescue would probably take Gizmo, but not sure about Skippy. There isn't any way you can have a family member watch them for you until you get back on your feet?

Now is not the time to be humble...

I would call her and tell her it's either yes or no.

Yeah, she's supposed to come over this weekend for some furniture so I'll get her answer.

I would love too, but I already have 5 canine's in my house. Just added a stray that is going to become a mommy in the near future.

That is awesome of you, R.

The dog in my avatar came from the shelter... we've had her about 6 weeks now.

My dogs died and I'm moving out of my house into a condo. So I'm no help at all. I think I missed the part about why you are getting rid of everything.

Sorry to hear that things are bad. It's hell getting old.
