Default Superstitions and handicapping

Ummm, does anyone else have any?

You know, something like Freddy Fong having a mount in the final race at HP?

Just wondering.....

Nothing really major.

If i have bet a horse named Spot Thedifference (you know the horse well) and i am watching the race from home, it seems to give me good luck by watching it with it on 'mute'. He is 3 from 3 when i have done that

When i'm on the track, if i have bet a horse that i considered to be really unlucky and probably should have won (Horatio in the Dewhurst), i will not go near the spot where i watched that race from for the rest of the day.

Also, although i have done it previously, i hate betting a horse that has the same trainer/jockey combination as the horse that won the previous race. Unless i really think the horse has a massive chance, i just won't do it.

So, in other words, yes..... i am very superstitious

I haven't had a winning day in so long that I am all out of things that bring luck.

I believe that if I have problems even getting to the OTB or track that I will have a bad day. If someone invites me to do something else on Saturday or any other day I plan on going to the races, I turn them down PRIORITIES you know... I will have horrible day. I resent the person that dared invite me to anything.

for example this gal at work invited me to her wedding on BC day 2 years ago. Only hit one winner the BC Distaff 1st 2nd and 4th btw ..thanks Steve for the 30-1 shot.

anway... I haven't talked to her since

Superstituous or actual cause and effect?

i'm not superstitious about anything. i think it's crazy about baseball players for example who won't shave, or wear only certain underwear, things like that. or have to eat the same meal. it's crazy stuff for some people.

My mom swears the color yellow is unlucky. Going to a Derby years ago, the owner pulls out little yellow coffee maker and plugs it up to the car cig lighter. My mom pulls over, looks at the owner and says "Wayne, Yellow? Yellow? thats the only damn color u had?" Mr Wayne rolls down the window and out the coffee maker flies.hehe ummm and it must be true cause we won the Derby.hehe Oh and while rodeoing,,,no peanuts and never put your hat on the bed.

The only thing that I do if I am winning is, to keep going to the same teller to put in and cash my tickets. And if I have a very good day, I will try to wear the same thing next time I go back to the track.

Always bet the gray horse, and if you hit a nice bet, use the same pen lol

My Daily Racing Form has to be crisp and clean when I buy it... none of those bent front or page pages.

Watch how many pitchers who will literally change their stride to miss the white lines on the first and third base sides......I actualy once saw a Red Sox pitcher pull his groin so bad he was on the 60 day DL trying not to jinx himself by stepping on the lines!!!

And to Travis if I'm alive in the last at HP I almost always include Chop Chop....don't ask me why but he has both cashed and cost me P4's and a couple of P6's

I like all my money facing the same way, and inside a bright purple rubberband prior to betting

Ive I ever have a voucher I request all change on the end be taken off, I want round numbers only. If the Voucher is 358.40, I dont want the 8.40 on the end. I also keep no singles on me at any point during the day.

i wonder tho--do these folks not realize that if they do this every time, it's bound to happen before losses, as well as wins?! so it certainly is not foolproof.
