Default A rather great afternoon..

Should have a chance to write more later, but will take a moment to thank everyone for coming out Sunday to see Dee Tee Stables' first try at Saratoga, as well as those supporting the cause from afar. More than 70 partners, friends, family and DTers were on hand, and while Sumwonlovesyou fell short, I'd like to think it was a special experience for those attending.

Competing at this level, at this venue, is a remarkable accomplishment, and having the wagering public make SWLY the favorite was a validation of the highest order. Coming to Saratoga to try and win is a about as difficult as it comes in this game, and though the 9f try was out of her scope, Sumwon was hardly embarassed. She came into this race as well as a horse can, and continues to perform so far above our initial expectations that it's hard to come away disappointed.

As a group, we have visited Saratoga, Arlington, Churchill and Keeneland: it doesn't come any better than that. The excitement and pleasure I sense and witness from those involved in Dee Tee is tremendously rewarding, and we're going to continue to build on our concept of getting as many people into the game as possible through this unique approach.

I hope everyone had as much fun Sunday as I did... Thanks.

Steve,

My wife and I had a great time. Thank you so much for your hospitality. I wonder if there has ever been that many people in the Paddock at once? Sumwon ran a great race and we look forward to seeing her run again soon. My entire family will be up on the 18th and we will be certain to stop by & say hello. Thanks again to you you & Chuck for all the hard work you guys put in to this partnership.

Dear Steve and Chuck,

It's been an absolutely wonderful experience, even from those of us that could not make it this weekend. She's raced in the best venues and has been competitive throughout. Perhaps 9f is beyond her scope, but somehow think 6.5 to 7F might be her niche. Anyway tell us what you think the plans are for her going forward. Perhaps another SPA race?

Anyway looking forward the the additional venturesthat are planned.

You guys keep up the good work.

NC Tony

Default Pictures of SWLY Coming soon

Steve & All DTers,

I was lucky enogh to get to the track early enough to secure a great spot on the rail in the clubhouse for SWLY's race. I took a bunch of pictures and I am happy with several of them. The spot I was standing in was just past the finish line and I got several shots of here in the gate and coming out of the gate. I also got a good action shot of her isolated nearing the wire.

I stayed in my spot after the race and Calvin & SWLY came right infront of me for Calvin to dismount. I got some good head shots of her after the race. I can tell you she was still really blowing hard even after she galloped out back to the club house.

I got a shot of Calvin in the DT Green & Blue and even asked him to smile which he kindly did.

I started puttiing pictures up into a Sumwonlovesyou gallery on my website, only 4 so far I'll probably only put a few more up as I seem to be having computer issues, and there seem to be a lot of duplicate type shots. You can access it at:

http://www.billtheobaldphotography.com

My only regret from sunday is that I didn't get a chance to stop by and meet more of you on Sunday. I was busy placing bets and entertaining my son.

Hopefully I can get back to Saratoga before closing day.

It was a lovely weekend. The weather was beautiful and I got to meet many DTers.

Unstable and Swale84 - really great guys, Unstable even gave me the shirt out of his bag - thank you again!

Steve - what can I say about Steve that hasn't been said in the past? Not much. He is an immensely gracious host - just goes above and beyond. I think he got 80 or so people into the paddock.

Steve's parents - turns out the apple does not fall far from the tree. They are charming and his mother is just so elegant. In Steve's words, she's a "panic".

Chuck - a man of few words but makes them all count.

Cherie - I can see why all of the guys are swooning over Cherie, she is beautiful inside and out and really loves our horse.

Sumwonlovesyou - she is a great big girl and quite a ham. I had been taking pictures of her at the barn and later was walking past her with my camera to see Top Royelle- I swear she gave me a look that said "Where do you think you are going with that camera? I'm right here.... no need to photograph anything else!" Swale84 and Unstable were there and we all laughed at her look. She is very well cared for and will bring us all to the winner's circle in due time. Poor girl has lots riding on her back. In a separate thread I posted a slew of pictures from the weekend, most of them dominated by our filly.

Thank you all for a memorable weekend.

Steve and Gang,

Although Sumwon didn't win on Sunday like we all wanted, we have to look back at what a wonderful and positive experience this has been for everyone. DT Stables has brought numerous people from all walks of life together to enjoy the sport on a different level than most of us could ever afford to do. Life is all about the experiences and people you surround yourself with. I have met many new friends and had a very positive experience being a part of DT Stables. Sumwon will get to winners circle someday, but we need to enjoy the journey and make the most of it. Thanks to everyone at AP yesterday, although I got hammered at the windows I still had fun. GBbob I owe you a few beers, maybe at Lambeau for a Packer game! Thanks again for creating DT Stables and allowing all of us to be a part of it.

Default Winning isn't everything

For those who say "just win baby"I don't think grasp the concept of what Steve,Chuck,Cherie & SWLY are bringing to the partners involved with the DT venture.
I may not have won money Sunday but MADE lots of new friends with fun & memories that are priceless.I won't name names because there are too many of us to remember everyone w/o nametags but I will say my wife & I met the most wonderful couples & people from MD,CA,LA all over the US & even a family of Canucks to help round out the variety of great personalties involved in the this partnership.
A man with an idea & a dream has let us share in the dream. The future of DEE TEE stables appears to be bright & the rainbow can be seen on the horizon. Now we just need to find the Leprachaun at the end with the Pot O' Gold.
Thanks once again to Steve,Chuck,Cherie,SWLY & even Earl & Woody for keeping our girl company.Looking forward to the next event & once again a FANTASTIC time.Ohh Steve by the way your parents were great & your mother could charm the rattle from a Rattlesnake.

have just enjoyed reading all the accounts and looking at all the fantastic pictures, each and every one of them - know what really makes me happy, is hearing about how all the kids had such a great time meeting Sumwon and enjoying their day at the track, after all they're our future "Owners" - hats off to all the connections and owners of Dee Tee Stables, keep it rolling..

Default Thanks Steve Again

Steve:

Thanks for you hospitality that you showed to myself and my family. I agree, to visit a horse that you own at the Barn at Saratoga and to be able to be part of the paddock scene with a horse about to race is the ultimate.
Sumwon continues to collect checks and race at a very high level. The track bias certainly worked against her on Sunday but we look forward to seeing her run again.
