Default Juddmonte International - York Aug. 21st

Anyone else fancy Authorized (2-1) in this race. He looks ultra tough here....

As for so many G1s here, the differences between the top guys are so tight that it will all depend on the ground and how much rain York gets. I think it is Good to Soft (Soft in Places) at the moment which would certainly suit Auth and NotNow. Alot of drying would hugely favour Dylan and Asiatic Boy. Ill be leaving my betting to the last possible moment, but my gut instinct says NotNow at the moment, but would love to see Asiatic Boy win.

I wish De Kock would have brought a string over here and ran Asiatic Boy against our top males.

I think he could have been amongst the top older horses in the U.S., and I don't see him running with Dylan Thomas, Notnowcato, and Authorized over the grass.

De Kock will be here someday with a string, and he will clean up. The guy is a solid trainer.

I think he has handled Asiatic Boy all wrong ever since Dubai, he hasn't seemed to have a clue what to do with him.

At the moment, the ground is good, good to soft in places, which shouldn't hurt too many of the horses (apart from Asiatic Boy perhaps).

I'm not a fan of Authorized at all, i think he is overrated. He has managed to get his conditions all 'summer', any other year he would have been racing on firm ground, and he wouldn't have been able to do it. He is just like Motivator in my opinion, and he never won a race after his impressive Derby victory.

This year's Derby has proved to be a pretty moderate race and i think on that performance he is overrated.

However, if he does win fair and square today on good ground (if it turns heavy, it will prove nothing) he will have proved me wrong.

I'm with Brock on this. At the moment, Notnowcato is a great bet, but if it was to dry out quickly, i think Asiatic Boy would be hard to beat.

Congrats to Authorised on a very good win over Dylan Thomas. He always travelled well, positioned perfectly and quickened nicely to nick a few lenghts. Dylan was against the rail and had to edge out to make his move but while at one stage, he looked likely to take the winner, Authorized kept up to his work and won nicely. I think the race will be rated quite highly as the two pulled quite a bit away from the third Notnowcato. Asiatic Boy finished fifth, never really threatening..

we'll find out more today im sure, but they could get on the plane to the States immediately or they could give Europe one last go, say in the QEII. But once again he'd need quick ground which is not certain at all.

He needs to bring him here soon. That horse has no business in those races in my opinion.

He needs turns and dirt. Not a four furlong straight with an incline on soft turf.

Fair play to Authorized. I must say, i was doubter of his ability, but he has showed he is a good class horse today.

I wish he could run on a fast surface to run against the real deal on that ground, but that won't happen.

Not sure about anyone else, but i thought Dylan Thomas ran a huge race over a trip short of his best and on ground he wouldn't have liked. To run Authorized that close was very good in my opninion, especially as he was giving weight to Authorized.

Everyone is saying Asiatic Boy should be in the States, hindsight is a wonderful thing. No one ever expected our Summer to be as bad as it has been. The opportunities for fast ground horse like Asiatic Boy have been few and far between. Who knows, on a different summer he may have won the Sussex and the Juddmonte and we'd all be saying "i'm so glad he never went to America".

Mick De Kock was, and i believe he is still convinced that the horse is better on turf, but it has to be fast turf.

It was a great race to watch.

Off to York tomorrow, so if anyone wants any particular pics, let me know.

Forgot about that. Go for the Jockey Club Gold Cup then.

If you get a pic of Frankie for me, that would be good. And ask him how his beloved Arsenal are doing
