Theverythoughtof U has a huge chance in the 7th race. She was blocked the whole time in the A Gleam and could have won it. 5-1 ML

Watch for patch of blue in 10th. He ran by about the whole field in the stretch of his debut. He showed a great deal of acceleration. Frankel horse who he flew by came back to run a solid 2nd in nightcap Mon. He gets a little more distance this time. I think he will be very tough right back.

Patch got a low fig as it was a slow race, but if you go back and watch it you will se how impressive his kick was. Huge strides extending down the lane....and that was first time out. Papanonie's kick last time out was very strong as well....watch that race.

This card it more difficult than the last two.....this is going to be a monster payout.

not sure who he came into ride...I am not crazy about his horse in the feature. Maybe he just wanted to visit SoCal

Just got through the sequence and my ticket is a bit more than I would like to spend...

The 7th race is brutal.

I'd love to toss the favorite in the 1st leg (switzerland).
Being that he's beaten up on weak, small fields in Northern California, jumping up two class levels, and getting the 11 post seems to be enough reason to do so.
Anyone know how the outside posts have been doing at DelMar in 1-mile races?

yep....I am looking at using those that can stalk off the folding speed....Ex Caelis 8-1 should be more relaxed second off...Vikkis Honor 10-1 had a prep and won this race last year, and Sindy is a great value at 10-1

I can't find a darn single in here.....I actually considered either singling Ex Caelis here or Drill Down in the feature.... where are you going?

Quick Little Miss is an old favorite of mine, she's been very very good to me.

I've been thinking a lot about the p6. I rarely bet them as they're virtually impossible. I will tomorrow as I can't resist the temptation.
I always play Cal tracks so I am familiar with the horses. Tomorrow's card is awesome. I 'glimpsed' it but won't really handicap until morning. Here are some initial thoughts & possible long shots, with the possible long shots listed first:
rc 5) 9/ 3,11
rc 6) 1A/7
rc 7) 7/2
rc 8) 4/8
rc 9) 6/11 7
rc 10) 10

I won't put a whole lot into the p6, just a few shots. I will bet horses I like to win, maybe w/p. Two that stand out are Moth Ball in the 3rd & QLM.
I might get a 1-5 box in the third.
Much to think about. Long shots were coming in like crazy on Monday.
Last day, who knows?
Good luck to all

Right now I have Selvatica (can't ignore the TG nos.), Sindy and Ex Caelis (love horses that leave DWL), but I would like to include others...

My single is Placid Lake in the 8th.

Drill Down should be very tough, but.... too many unknowns as far as rapid improvement with lightly raced 2yr olds. I can't single because I can't trust the others in the race to NOT jump up and run a huge one.

Got some decisions to make. I need to cut a couple horses from the lineup.

i also have placid lake as a single. even though talamo will get her in trouble she should still be good enough to win.

but thats it as far as finding narrow spots. tried several times to get a reasonbly priced ticket arrangement but doesn't look like that will happen.

looks like instead i'm going to roll thru this sequence with pk3's and pk4. i'd rather do that then cross my fingers and take a half hearted stab in the dark on a tough sixer.

Default A Few Thoughts On Del Mar P6

Race 5

11, Switzerland (a couple of angles are ripe here , Del Mar this year winners beget winners and if you haven't trained or run here you can't win here)
2 Gallardo must play
8 Smoocher (maybe) 3 Yes he's a PIstol (maybe getting old or so seems)

so for sure 11,2 for me here

Race 6 The first bullet to dodge without hitting ALL button

5 Kalookan Event (yes a first timer works, pedigree very likely winner)
8 Count Brahms (hopefully doesn't bounce)
7 TizMet (very possible if is inshape as works say)

(1) entries if any above scratch

gotta use 5,8,7

Race 7

10 Ex Caelis (love him and new Del Mar angle....Though shault play outside horses in sprints due to inherent track bias for outside stretch positions) I'd single him if I had to but also will play

2 Sindy with an S (Michael Baze, Michael Mitchell..great pattern has won 3 of 5, must use)
14 "All's well that ends well " as long as you use this returner with great works if eligible
1 Selvatica (too many wins to leave out completely but I am not overwhelmed

(3) Vicki's Honor if scratches occur

so for sure 10/2,14,1 for me

Race 8

4 Hunsley Bunsley (must use developing 3 year old with a win and second at Delmar this meet, sneaky good)
8 Placid Lake (yeah okay the numbers warrant but may not win)
12 Justice is Brief (sprints are won outside on this track my son...stay outside)

11 Incredible is essentially the same horse as 12 as both came out of MC level this meet etc etc
6 Golden Venture another nice horse with #'s but Talamo jumped off here so tough to back

so for me 4,8,12 maybe 11 (don't like 6)

Race 9

11 Georgie Boy wins the Futurity (enjoy it buddy the pair up 7's are nice and signals a move forward sorry Sarge see you in New Jersey next month
4 Drill Down also a toughy but may step back off last big effort
7 Leonides a PRO'S PICK

6 STS I guess you have to use him but I like him 4th best here with this group but of course he could win

so 11,4,7 (6 grudgingly)

Race 10

10 Papaoine is my selection as I love the pattern
4 Soupy must play as has highest speed numbers
8 Black Jack Attack I am going to give in to this even though he is a hanger at 0-27 but he is still very competitive if not the best of the group

7 Patch of Blue second time turf who could pop and is hard to turn away from as he has top closer number here of this group

10,4,8,7 or all 4 this race so at present without scratches

so 2x3x4x3x4x4 is far too much money.

Making a stand @ 12-1.If I make it to the last still alive I'm singling the 5.Darley,Harty,Bug, -5lbs & blinkers off?Interesting connection cocktail & multiple changes angle.Yes the 7th will stretch the budget & the feature is also tussle.

3-11/8/1-3-5-8-9-10/7-8/4-6-11/5

$72
Good Luck

Default Just for Grins.....

put some effort in, but minimum ticket still too rich for my blood...

R5 1,5,11
R6 8,5
R7 1,2,10
R8 8,7
R9 6,7,11
R10 6,9,10

Good luck to any who are actually attacking this pool

I/L

made a couple of decisions and narrowed things down to something playable.

race 5, using 1 4 6 11
don't like sprinters stretching out here, also don't like the 2 off of dull return race.

race 6, using 5 and 8
the 8 should be tough but figure if the five can work in 1:11 and change he can win most six furlong races at DM.

race 7, single 10 and hoping for the best.
10 looks like a new horse with mandella as last race towers over the field.
scared of the 1 but angles working against are post and no poly races and company on the front end means she will likely get weak late again. the 10 from the outside can stalk and pounce.
lonshot super crasher - 9

race 8, single 8

race 9, going wide 1 4 6 7 8 11
a lot can change start to start for 2 yo's, can't go with favorites only

race 10, 7 8 10
in the pick4 i'm also throwing in the 3.

so before scratches we have 4x2x1x1x6x3x$2 = $288

good luck to everyone

I agree. Think I'm going to take a $144 ticket with a few guys and just enjoy the ride. Unless DelMar become formful, or starts to make sense, it's almost crazy to go too deep to hit this.

One horse I'm including for sure is Skimmetry in the 6th.
Looks like a weak field, and a Frankel/Flores 1st timer will get my attention.
Only interesting thing is...does it seem odd that Frankel would have such a non-descript statebred in his barn? Maybe that's a good sign?
