Default Istanbul Sunday

I thought this meeting should be given a thread of it's own.

I hope i will be able to see the races somewhere, but i doubt i will. There are two big races on the same day. |The big race being over a mile with the likes of Traffic Guard, Dubai's Touch and Caradak in the field.

But also, what i didn't know until about 10mins ago, they is also big prize race over 12 furlongs where both Pressing and Laverock take their chances. The only reason i knew about this was that i have just come from the bookies speaking to the travelling head lad for Mick Jarvis who is taking the horse tomorrow (i think he said) and he said they will be VERY disappointed if he doesn't win.

I doubt there will be any way to bet on these races, but still, i thought i'd post that on here.

Must be a hard pick for you, mmsc...... Laverock AND Pressing running against eachother. You HAVE to pick one though

I CAN'T WAIT FOR CARADAK TO WIN!

Ooops, sorry for the outburst but really can't wait!

No mention of Banknote... is he out?

I knew there was another race that Laverock might go to (Bosphorus Cup ?)but he's also possible for the September Stakes on the 8th (with Kandidate and Hattan).

We shall see.

I think the site below gives the final entries for all the races on that card on Sunday.

http://spor.ekolay.net/veliefendi/hi...=09.09.2007**4

it stills says Banknote is there.

As i said, the guy who does most the travelling for Mick Jarvis (yes, he even travelled with Rakti!) said the yard would be very disappointed if he didn't win. I know he was last at Arlington, but he was only beaten about 3 lengths.

I can't get in touch with anyone about Laverock to see if he is going or not, so i cannot say for sure, but he is still entered up. I would have thought they will run him. Caradak is going so they may as well give him some company.

I have no idea about Kandidate, where did she say he is going, she will know more about that horse than i do.

Hey, you made an error in the spelling of TRAFFIC GUARD..... his name doesn't start with a C

GODOLPHIN TRAVELS TO TURKEY
07 September 2007

Godolphin will be double handed on their first trip to Turkey on Sunday, September 9. Caradak and Laverock fly the flag for the stable in two races on turf on the international card at Veliefendi racecourse, which is situated in the capital, Istanbul.

Both horses travelled to Istanbul this morning, Friday, September 7 and will be based at Veliefendi racecourse for the duration of their stay.

Caradak, winner of the 2006 G1 Prix De La Foret Casino Barriere De Biarritz at Longchamp will line up in the Topkapi Trophy run over eight furlongs, while Laverock will start in the twelve-furlong Bosphorus Cup. Jockey Kerrin McEvoy******* will be in the irons on both horses for Godolphin.

Turkey will become the fifteenth country in which Godolphin horses have competed in.

******* - Thanks God for that. Whew!

British raiders were unsuccessful in their trip to Turkey yesterday.

The best of them to run was Pressing who managed a fine second in the 12 furlong race (Laverock 3rd)

All the british horses in the mile race were unplaced.
