Federer
The king.
The new kid missed all the big shots. But the kid has the same kind of agility, he does not have to put forth the huge effort of Nadal or Roddick to win. That being said, Nadal (injured) still takes second because he has the killer instinct and knows what it takes to win, even though he lacks the ease of play this new kid and Federer. Did Federer actually even sweat? Smooth as ice. |

He hardly looks like he is trying. The whole game is so natural for him. And he really does everything well. But he must win the French to assure he is the best ever. |

Federer already has 5 Wimbledons, 4 US Opens and 3 Aussies. 12 to 11 Bjorg has 5 runners-up to 2 for Federer. |

Good grass players were not usually good on clay, and vice versa... so that is the amazing thing. His inability to win on an intermediate surface, hardcourts, still has me baffled though. I think the US open alluded him due to the crowd backing of others (McEnroe) But I am really not sure. Plus, I have never seen anyone as quick as Borg. Probably never will. |

Federer is the man! I haven't enjoyed watching tennis this much since the mid 90s when i was getting into tennis. I like Roger more than I do Pete. Roger is just like a machine, those timely backhands that were in were just incredible shots. It also seemed at times like he was a few steps ahead of Dvic, and anticpated the shots.

You know the scary thing about yesterday's final is that it may be the worst I've ever seen Federer play. I also think Djokovic will move rapidly past Nadal as the world's #2. He has all the goods, he found out what the big stage was like yesterday and he will react better next time. Federer is at a point now where he is not only the best/most dominant tennis player but could easily be considered the most dominant athlete of all time. It would be icing on the cake and I hope he does it, but winning the French is not the answer to him being declared greatest of all time....This guy could win 20 majors by the time he's finished. I think it all depends on how long he wants to play.
