don shula (never one of my faves) says that the patriots should have a bondsian asterisk next to their name if they go into the record books for surviving a season undefeated. this of course due to spygate.

now, i don't condone cheating at all, and certainly belichek was caught red handed. but does the sting of the cheating lesson with each weeks subsequent mangling of their opponents, as well as the fact that the team they spied on is so terribly bad??? also, it was the season opener, vs the hapless jets...presumably the pats have won every game since then the honest way.

of course, first the pats have to win it all..otherwise it's just philosphizing.

I don't agree with the reason why they should have an asterisk. My reasoning for the asterisk has to do with two of the upper tier wide recievers in the league signing with the Patriots for pennies on the dollar. The NFL has been outstanding, in most part, due to the salary cap. And these assholes are taking the fairness out of the game.

Moss, Stallworth, and the Patriots organization should be ashamed of themselves. And Tom Brady needs to cut back on the photo shoots. FFS.

They may still be receiving benefits as they have been filming for years and I highly doubt they've turned over every bit of information taken from the illegal filmings to the NFL. However, teams know they have this info and if they haven't changed their signals then they deserve whatever they get. So no asterisk necessary.
