Thumbs down Your N.Y. officials hard at work..."Show me the money!"

This is from about a month or so ago, the esteem senator from the 20th district in N.Y. - Jeffery Adams.
And you wonder why THIS STATE is in the shape it is with guys like this in office!

He's a senator, he's knows what the job pays. I'm sick and tired of OUR elected officials spending MY hard earned tax dollars foolishly. And this guy, complaining about his salary? He forgets...HE WORKS FOR US!

i know here in arkansas that the state senators and reps don't get paid a lot. BUT they do receive expenses and per diem while in session, and that can get into some pretty big bucks.

so, to look at just the salary of the gentleman in new york may not tell the whole tale.

pols generally find a way to take care of themselves. the new sherriff here has asked for a uniform allowance-the patrolmen get over $100 a month for uniforms...

thing is, he doesn't wear a uniform.

I'm surprised Randy Moss isn't solving this problem.

i'm a complete idiot and i make more than him.

you can spin that either way. ny get's the representation they deserve or the guy needs to stop complaining and take his talant where it's rewarded.

but i'm shocked they pay a state legislator so little.

You are right about the way these guys spend money. It's bad. But it's a nationwide problem, not just a NY thing. You really seem to have a issue with NY politics. Why do you still live here?
Most of the politicians have forgotten and the way things are run here in the "Empire State" suck! Why I live here? good question, I guess I'm a glutton for punishment After spending my entire life here, I guess I'm use to it.....but can STILL bitch about it

I got my FIRST raise in 19 years a year ago and I'm not complaining.

but he knew the pay when he ran for office....so one has to wonder about his reasons for running. perhaps for all the other perks that come with that office? or maybe a stepping stone to bigger and better? but certainly not to be rich.

Well, it was really an "upgrade" in title, the biggest "raise" of sorts were no more than 4%. It justs gets to me when "career" politicians bitch about the money they get. After all, they're elected to the position.
