GP January 9th -- a bit out of the ordinary
While it's not out of the ordinary to find HALF splits that are faster than QTR splits going a MILE or even 7F on the DIRT at GP, it's unusual to see it going lesser distances.
On 1/09 there were two such cases Race 2 6.5F 12.5k claiming qtr 22.79 half 22.74 and Race 5 6F 32k-30k claiming qtr 22.86 half 22.71 while the faster halfs can be explained, somewhat, by the slow quarters, nonetheless, this is unusual ---assuming, of course, that the GP timer was accurate (a HUGE assumption, it seems). |

Was hoping to get > 2:1 on that horse out of the 5th (that had gate issues and actually gained INTO the HALF) today at TAM. Wasn't to be.
