Default Footage from Clyde Van Dusen 1929 Derby, Linus McAtee up

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrNbo...eature=related

Stumbled on this genuine looking footage of the 1929 Kentucky Derby won by this week's noteworthy #20, Clyde Van Dusen.

Note the walk up start, sans starting gate.

Tough for me to follow the action in the mud and grain, but I'm thinking Clyde didn't do his "walking up" on the outside. Maybe someone can see it differently, but I never catch the outside horse making the lead....

I can't follow it either. He did lead pretty much the whole way... I think
so like Van Dusen... Big Brown will?

Awesome post. No one ever says.. "The one horse who won from 20 had the run-up to the start.."

I followed the winner
about as well as this year's Gotham.

But that is pretty cool.
Thanks.

I think it's obvious that the entire field was "hopped up" . . .
