SAT Action - AP PK4 & CD
Arlington Park
R6 - American 1000 Guineas (Turf) #4 Scolara - Won latest despite a less than ideal trip. Douglas should have her in good position turning for home. #6 Cubs Fan - Live longshot was destined to run in Chicago. Connections seem fit to ship up north and pick up hot jock. Don't overlook at a juicy price. #3 Much Obliged - Ran in to some toughies in KEE, but made short work of her rivals in the Big Easy. Obvious contender. #8 Dreaming of Liz - The daughter of El Prado finally makes turf debut and should be forwardly placed. The mile distance seems well within her scope. #9 Seemingly - Expect her to find her best strides in deep stretch and contend for a minor award. R8 - Arlington Classic 150K (Turf) #8 Meal Penalty - Stretches out and tries the lawn after back to back wins on Poly. There's not much pace in the race which will inhance his chances of finding the winner's circle. #9 Sporting Art - Hard to knock the multiple graded winner from top turf conditioner. Electrifying turn of foot, but migth run out of real estate here. #3 Sebastian County - Expensive purchase looks to be putting it together. Should handle the lawn just fine. #2 Mr. Mischief - Emigh will send him and hope to hold on for a piece. Exits win on this course. R9 - G3 Hanshin #8 Lovango - If he runs back to anything like the Forward Pass (102 BSF) last summer the rest are running for 2nd. Draws well for his style. #6 Coragil Cat - In career form and this is the right time to catch a price on him. He is taking a hike up in class. #1 Stonehouse - Definitely his best distance and he'll be gunning it from his inside post. The blowout on Wednesday asures that he's ready. R10 - Alw 30.5K N1X (Ill breds) #3 Cape Konerko - Attracts top jock after career best (70 BSF) effort in last on this same course. #8 Bill of Bills - More Than Ready 3yr old colt is coming off maiden score a few weeks ago. R11 - Clm 10K N3L #4 Mahvelous Bert - Exits similar race that he grinded it out to hit the board and the extra 1/2 furlong should get it done. #5 Ostenaco - Had a troubled trip and still managed to finish 4th beaten 1 1/4 lgts in latest. #8 Go On With it Son - Drops to lowest level and barn wins at 23% with new arrivals. #1 Beau Weeble - Both career wins came on the polytrack last year. PK4 - 3 8 9 / 1 6 8 / 3 8 / 1 4 5 8 = $72 Churchill Downs R7 - Alw 43.1K N1X (Turf) #1 Crystal Minuet - Horrible trip in last as the 6-5 favorite going two furlongs shorter. Closed despite trouble and soft fractions (51.3 for the half). Robby will have 11 furlongs to work out the right trip. Should crush this bunch. #2 Goat Cheese - Coming out of the same race as #1 and she closed well to finish 4th. Expecting her to be 2nd best here. Cold Exacta - 1 2 R10 - G3 Louisville Handicap #1 Lattice - Talented runner making his 3rd start of the year. Draws well for this marathon trip and I expect him to take his picture this afternoon. #9 Silverfoot - Old guy tries to win this event for the 4th time. Expecting another solid effort. #11 Firerock Base - Has been knocking on the door, but can't seem to get in. Board finish. #10 Lord Carmen - Distance not a problem and coming in off strong performance at AP. #5 Brass Hat - Classy old guy has been through some wars and Borel hops aboard. Ex, Tri, & Super - 1 / 5 9 10 11 Good Racing Luck

we're not too far off on the AP pick 4.....
I'm going with 9,5,8 (like Gangbuster at a price if Sporting Art doesn't run 100%) 3,8 3,8 10,9 |

AP's early pick 4 looks pretty chalky
going with 7,2 2,6 (like the 2, but the 6 should be lone speed, so not leaving out) 5,8 2,1 (may throw the 9 in also) |

Excellent picks.... that of course means we're screwed... I actually have Carmen ahead of Firerock... but Firerock will be much better price for those looking for more bang for the buck...

I'm sticking with the Pick-3s (races 7-9)
Race 7 I really like Asmussen's FTL in here. The cut to 6f also makes Action Seeker a big threat. 3 - Action Seeker 12 - Grand Trio Race 8 I'm using the always effective strategy of using two horses here....the Catalano first....and then the best horse second. 7 - Prime Realestate 9 - Sporting Art Race 9 Pace will definitely determine this race. If Spotsgone gets loose I think he wins. If he doesn't, I like Lovango. 8 - Lovango 2 - Spotsgone 3,12 / 7,9 / 2,8 |

I'm sure I'm the only one but I kind of like Spider Power at CD. . . Amoss is great off the claim (even though he claimed this one off KMc so I doubt he'll be able to move him up as much as usual) and this is clearly SP's best distance. . . I've chased this horse for like 2 years though so I might be biased. . .

Cubs Fan was guaranteed to be an underlay today given the people that are out there today, first nice Saturday, the place is packed, with people that are doing nothing but betting names....

Louisville Handicap
10 Lord Carmen- I was at Arlington for this race and really loved how he ran. He should be more than fine with the distance and should run a big one. |
