![]() It's getting pretty disturbing and scary to watch McCain/Palin rallies. Since they've started harping on the Ayers thing, and now that they've mentioned Obama and 'terrorist' in the same sentence, the crazy racists (a significant section of the country) are all coming out of the closet and feeling legitimized. The McCain campaign doesn't seem to care, but I hope they realize how dangerous this is. I understand that they feel as though they have nothing left to throw at Obama, but is one final desperate ploy to win really worth putting your opponent in danger by egging on racist lunatics?
Don't necessarily hold back your attacks, but if you've got any sense of responsibility left, shouldn't you publicly denounce some of these sentiments expressed at your rallies, or at least kick out the people shouting 'kill him!' or yelling racial epithets at black cameramen? When do you begin to feel responsible for spraying gasoline on a controlled wildfire? |

![]() Let me also say that I don't mean this to be a partisan post, and I really would prefer to stay away from the back-and-forth inanity that bogs down every thread in here.
I'm seriously just pointing out something that's troubling to me. |

Hey, I hope I am. I just refuse to underestimate the extent to which racism still exists, as well as how many crazy people we have in this country. |

![]() well..i don't think a racist or crazy can be made more so just because a pol has a rally. by the same token, i wouldn't want support from a nut or a racist. but mccain wants to be voted in about as badly as a person could want anything. he said the gloves would come off, and he's right.

i tell you what else is a shame. this is a huge choice imo. so, a couple of rushed debates with limited time to answer, and only the two candidates. wonderful. glad that we go all out to elect a leader. i think everyone should vote for a third party candidate, that would get a lot of attention if barr or nader could get more than a blip on the screen, wouldn't it?

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the..._the_roug.html To be fair, McCain's campaign released a statement saying it "does not condone the inappropriate rhetoric," but that's pretty vague.. |

people should not view a third party candidate vote as a wasted vote. if enough did it, it would add up. might not get the guy elected, but it could certainly sound an alarm i would think.

![]() I've said from the beginning that only racism could defeat Obama this election, not saying all McCain supporters are racist, of course not, but with the economy in the toilet and having more and more crap dropped on it every day, an unpopular war and the undeniable links between Bush and McCain...how could McCain win??? The good news, most folks who are racist have long since committed to McCain (hell, they'd line up to vote for George Wallace) so this demagoguery should backfire on McCain/Palin by turning off the undecided folks. I expected McCain to play the race card at some point...hell, he voted against Martin Luther King Day and removing the Confederate flag from the S Carolina capital building...frankly speaking, I don't trust the man regarding racial issues! Palin...she's a mindless attack dog, which I guess makes her an ideal VP candidate for the Republicans...she winks at the camera and cracks jokes. Obama hopefully will call McCain on this rhetoric...and yes, one does share in the responsibility for such crap...perhaps not legally, but certainly morally! Inciting violence, racial hatred, perhaps even worse isn't anywhere in the Constitution...this is vile and hardly the "good judgement" that McCain keeps claiming to possess! I attended a George Wallace rally in Hagerstown , MD way back when...he never directly attacked black folks, he left it to his audience but the message was clear...this is the same crap!!!

![]() For anyone who is endorsing Obama. Do you have any questions or at least a little intrigued about his ties in the past? Whether it is Ayers or Wright or anyone else that is being dug up. What are you feelings on the issue?
Any questions about why all his college transcripts are closed? John Edwards had an affair, and it seems that he has disappeared from the face of the Earth. But you have a guy who is weeks away from being President with some sort of link/ties to a terrorist and a racist minister. Does it intrigue you at least a little bit?
