running horses in spots where they can win.

I'm sure many of the new owners will be heeding your advice.

There are some racehorses but people know that most of the crowd there is breeding stock people, not trainers or guys looking for racehorses. A horses of racing age sale is something that is long overdue. The problem is when and where do you hold it? The sales calander is pretty full in the fall for keeneland and fasig Tipton. September is obviously tough and really is a little too early. fasig already has 2 october sales and the November sale the first week of the Month. Keeneland has racing in October and another 2 week sale in November. The end of November is a bad time to travel. 1st week in December?

Thats what 3yo claiming races at Belmont are for. Save on those pesky commissions.

Fall makes sense as a horse will have mostly wrapped up a seasons worth of racing and you have a fair idea of where he stands, esp. for a 3yo coming 4.
Not sure the logistical details but fall makes sense to me.

People are always looking to get rid of horses before the winter season. Some outfits do like Zayat is doing on a smaller scale. A lot of the big trainers dont like to carry as many horses in the winter and many of these partnerships dissolve and need a place to liquidate in a public auction. I think it would work.

yeah, it was tongue in cheek. can definitely see folks wanting to unload in the fall. problem is, that's when we already have a lot of sales. but this would presumably draw a new batch of buyers, not everyone is looking to get in on the breeding side.
