Default This Years Baseball HOF Results

Jim Rice and Rickey Henderson in.........everybody else waits.

What a freaking joke in the selection committee.

Rickey Henderson - 94.8 percent of the votes. The 28 non-voters should be barred for life from this comittee.

Jim Rice - had to wait the entire 15 years give me a break.

Andre Dawson and Bert Blyleven have to wait.
Lee Smith will never get in.
Mark McGwire at 118 votes.

(Just a partial list)
Mark Grace 22 (4.1) - ballplayer but not HOF worthy.
David Cone 21 (3.9)

Whoever voted for these guys should be barred for life from selection process also.
Matt Williams 7 (1.3)
Mo Vaughn 6 (1.1)
Jay Bell 2 (0.4)
Jesse Orosco 1 (0.2).

Makes you wonder if (a) ever actually watch baseball (b) hold personal agendas when making selections or (c) have their dog makes the selections.

Eight people didn't vote for Ripken first ballot either and I think it had nothing to do with personal grudges. Some of these idiot voters just don't think anyone should go in unanimously first ballot and are determined to make sure it doesn't happen.

Yup..there is a group that have NEVER voted for anyone on the first ballot, or at least there used to be.

Mark McGwire 118 (21.9)

Juicing isn't gunna be very vote producing

This guy will not be put in by writers etc.(players want him in, then they will have to do it themselves.) That goes for any of them juicers. They made money by cheating, but don't expect them to make it into a hall that people want to take their family to see. Blyleven again overlooked. I don't understand that one.

Anyone who doesnt vote for a 90% or over first ballot guy should have their vote suspended for 5 years. These idiot writers with their agendas dont deserve a vote.

You can take it all the way down to the 37% that didn't think Blyleven was good enough. He's easily good enough. Shouldn't be any question of that. To me, his stats are very typical of a HOF pitcher. He did play in some cow towns. So, maybe a lot of writers are overlooking him, because they didn't see him pitch all that much. Fact is he won rings with 2 of those cow town teams. He has a real nice post season record. I don't get it. The guy had a curve that was crazy. I could see the Rice being a maybe, but I don't understand why this guy is one. Does anyone have links to articles on why he shouldn't be in? There are over a third of writers still against him. That's bizarre. Is he that much of a jerk?

Really...he should be pissed! To my recollection, he was a fierce competitor
and was always ready to pitch. 60 shutouts.......the pitchers today are lucky
to make 6 innings(a quality start...WTF?)

Before looking into next years class, I see Dawson getting in by the numbers. Blyleven will get in probably in 3 years (his final year elgible)

I recall the Goose did some beotching in the press. Then Sutter got in....did some more beotching.....then finally got the call.

Somehow, I'm having this feeling watching this crap for so many years that McGwire will gain some steam and pass Lee Smith (think 6th year on the ballet currently) on his way of getting close.

Jim Rice probably now holds the dubious distinction of being the least worthy modern-day player to receive enshrinement in the Baseball HOF. I'd say he's competing with Catfish Hunter and perhaps Orlando Cepeda for that honor.

Tim Raines at 22 percent and Alan Trammell at a paltry 17.4 percent are jokes. The fact that Nolan Ryan was a slam dunk first ballot HOFer and Bert Blyleven continues to toil in the voting process is also a travesty.
