? Maybe Drugs
There was a football game. Preceding Madden 1985. I pick a disc, then a play. Defense adjusts and we push mini disk in and hear play. What game was that?

I have Talking Football and Talking Baseball at home... They were great. DrugS is too young to remember Talking Football o Talking Baseball.
Hell... I still have an "Electric Football" game at home where you would spend 10 minutes setting up the players in formations and turn on the electricity. Then they would all spin around and do nothing, eventually congregating in one corner of the game table in a group hug...

Probably time to grab some of the potential collector's items and bring them home with me where they belong. Seems to me, last time I fired it up the Talking Football (about 15-20 years ago) Enberg's voice was deep and dragging. Fresh batteries didn't help. Nice pull on that article Phil. Christmas 1972, I was soon to be 9 and this game was right in my wheelhouse. |

Was actually thinking about buying a table, they're expensive though. $3k for the coinop version, $1500 for the non-coinop home version. Quote:

I used to have the electronic game that Steve mentioned. I had all the teams and spent hours on top of hours playing it by myself. I never used the power, I just controlled the teams manually. For the life of me I never understood how they expected you to pass the ball. I think it's F'n impossible.
I think I had the disk game too, but I don't remember too much about it. Anyone interested, it's on EBAY. http://cgi.ebay.com/ABC-Talking-Mond...3A1%7C294%3A50 http://cgi.ebay.com/TALKING-abc-MOND...3286.m20.l1116

That first one gives a location of GR, MI. That's where my parents live. If they even knew what ebay was, I'd be worried. The second one looks brand new but....$200!?! |
