He is a very under rated fielder....unfortunately the guys bat over shadows the leather he throws. He made a very similar play to keep a no hitter intact. I think it was Buckholz but might have been Lester's....a nice problem to have actually.

Pathetic job of coaching by Girardi.....some of his moves baffle me.

Sterling had similar things to say until he found out the Yanks had 3 injuries not previously announced....

180 million dollar man= hitting .235.......but I am sure all them walks (and 11 RBI) are worth 20 mil a year. Hi OBP, and low RBI= lead-off hitter.

Mariano blows the save on Friday. And last time I checked, if you score 11 runs you should probably win the game. I really don't think offense has been the problem.

that's right he did , but , they left somthing like 18 men on base on firday night

the score 1 run against masterson last night

not good any way you cut expect for the fact they hit beckett but became all mute anyway when burnett imploded

So they should have been good enough to take 2 out of 3. The pitching staff didn't get the job done, plain and simple.

game 1 was a loss becuase of all the opportunites they had

mariano shouldn't even had been called upon , they scored 4 runs in that game and should have easily put up 8

then after mariano blows it , who strikes out in the 10th with men on the corners - our great $20mm find (just as scudsbrother predicted)

Tex had his shot there to make a difference in the series and change the mojo of the game - and for $20 m he stikes out on a ball so far out of the stike zone it was in california

(the only positive of the weekend was how hard they hit beckett)

mariano shouldn't even had been called upon , they scored 4 runs in that game and should have easily put up 8 He's the best closer in the history of the game, who should have they brought in?

then after mariano blows it , who strikes out in the 10th with men on the corners - our great $20mm find (just as scudsbrother predicted)Tex left 3 guys on base. As did Damon,Ransom and Posada. Cabrera left 6, Swisher 5 and Cano 4. So Tex wasnt the only culprit, but the bottom line is that they should have been back in the clubhouse by then anyway.

Tex had his shot there to make a difference in the series and change the mojo of the game - and for $20 m he stikes out on a ball so far out of the stike zone it was in california The mojo was gone when Jason Bay launched that ball over the center field fence.

(the only positive of the weekend was how hard they hit beckett)
You blame Tex for things, the way Timmi blames Obama.

my point is that the yankees should have had more than 4 on the board thru 9.

they should have had 8 or 9 - , rivera blows it happens (he has 4 rings , he gets a pass)

tex - has a shot to be a difference maker in the 10th (what scuds talked about during the season) - he making $20 mil he's your big bat , if arod stikes out in the spot (a player with no rings he gets killed by the meida , fans, etc ,etc)

tex - had his chance to earn his pinstipes with a big hit against pepelbon in the 10th and give his team some life , some hope - and he flushed it down the toilet bowl - at least a-rod hit in april and may

But they did enough to have a 2 run lead in the 9th, reguardless how many men were left on base BY THE ENTIRE TEAM.

Yeah you are right, he has 4 rings and blown saves happen. In fact, he should have a fifth ring, but he blew one there too.

He struck out on a bad pitch against a very good pitcher, but there were other guys that could have made a difference too. They are all making big buck and they should all be accountable.

Yeah he would have earned his pinstripes with a hit there.
People still say A-Rod hasn't earned his stripes yet.

If I was you, I would be a little more concerened with the pitching at this point, then the hitting.
