Before I made the bet at LS I asked the question> It sent them scrambling and made several phone calls and read from some books. Noone gave me a confident answer but the y felt it would be a refund for the scratched horse.

Not a huge investment, but I had a superfecta wheel I bet yesterday with I Want Revenge included.....but not in the win slot. Still live since I still have enough horses left to fill out a superfecta.....I guess.

I wonder if I'll have a refund available as if I had wheeled with one less horse?

I also had him in a tri-box play, but know that ticket will refund.

Sure would have played that wheel differently had I known he wouldn't be in the race.

Wish I could get to an OTB today!

This is posted on Twinspires:

I Want Revenge Scratched: Oaks/Derby Dbl and Oaks/Woodford/Derby P3 winning combinations will receive a consolation payout.

Answering my own question, I DID get the refund on the superfecta wheel.

48 hours after placing the bets, it almost seemed like cashing a winning Derby ticket! Almost.

I had a superfecta wheel with "I Want Revenge" as one of six trailing horses for $120.

His scratch did make it revert to a wheel with five trailing horses for $60, so when my ticket went through the machine it came up as a $60 payout today

Cool.

I also had a refund on a tri-box that included him.

Nothing to brag about of course, but it did reduce my overall Derby loss by about 25% to 30%......and allowed me to just enjoy and appreciate the race even more, despite the monetary loss.
