Got old quick. This is the case of many big/overweight slugger without..."supplements". Look at cecil fielder. Same type of Rapid decline.

The latter. The dude gained a million pounds and almost instantly began hitting .300-40-130 every year. Fat doesn't increase your power like that. He's only 33, he shouldn't be breaking down naturally yet.

I'm shocked, SHOCKED that he has a hundred excuses for Ortiz rather than PEDs. It's not like he's a Boston homer or anything.

Not having Manny behind him doesn't help his case either.

I never bought into the fact you have to have a superstar batting behind you to do your job well. Especially for someone as great as Ortiz. Is Jason Bay not a good replacement?! What hasnt he done in Manny's absence? The guy has been every bit as good, if not better.

I have no explanation for why Ortiz is behaving the way he is.

Maybe he is like Funny Cide and no longer loves the game.

But then again I am a Boston homer!

Jason Bay has been dynamite, but I think that pitchers don't fear him like they do with Manny.
Texieria and the whole team for that matter has been much better since A-Rod has been back in the lineup. Like I said, not a knock against Bay, but he's no Manny.
