Default Ky Derby faces competition

I guess it is plausible that there might be another race on the 1st Saturday of May that could take away from the Derby.

The historical value of the Kentucky Derby will squash any money that another race can offer.

Politicians are whores.

No offense to any whores on this board intended. At least whores provide a useful service.

That pol was being much too modest. He should have upped the ante to $10 million for the Derby competition and also included a $5 million race in competition with the Oaks.

Wait, so it's a Kentucky pol saying Kentucky neeeeeeeds slots because it's just theorectially possible that some other track in some other state might decide to pour tons of money into a race on the same day as the Kentucky Derby solely to steal Kentucky's spotlight on the 1st Saturday in May?

I file this under the US neeeeeeeds to torture because it's just theoretically possible that they might have a suspect under custody who knows about an attack that just happens to be taking place in one hour and he just theoretically might say something true under torture (rather than just saying whatever he thinks torturers want to hear him say).

Which goes right next to I neeeeeeed to keep bananas in my house because it's just theoretically possible that monkeys might fly out of my butt and they'd be hungry and bite me unless I have bananas.

Wake me up when politicians come up with a tactic besides fear. Jeez, even his phrasing: "We would be foolish to believe that no one would ever take shots against us." Dude, you're talking about slot machines.
